Your work is always amazing. I'm hoping watching your videos, and Dave's, and Finn's inspire my kids to build cool stuff when they get older (my daughter is 6 but is the first one to help work on my square body. Have you considered opening your own shop, building and working on other people's toys? Your fab work is always neat and clean and I would pay you to work on my toys for sure!

Jeep is looking great. I'm kind of surprised you didn't check the suspension with articulation. I imagine you are gonna flex the thing out eventually. I'll just wait for the next video.. . .

Hay Dave just saw you at the gambler last week at the gambler 500 I've always abmyer the work you do

Wow, 2" of lift in the rear. I have 3" leafs in the back and a D60. Ran into the problem of the leafs flattening out under compression and the diff running into the gas tank skid as well. I've also got a 2.5 gal air tank up there too. Wish I could weld as nice as you. Been teaching myself for the past few months. Have to replace the front shock mounts for F250's but I also want to have decent welds and not have it fall off. Love your YJ build.

Nothing more nerve racking than that long trip after major repairs and/or modifications. Listening for any odd noises, vibrations etc.!

What are your thoughts on the Motobilt 4 link kit for the YJ? I have a 94 and plan on getting that kit. Currently it’s a 2.5, auto with 4in lift. Plans are Motobilt 4 link, 5.3, Th350, 8.8. I don’t have the skills like you but can weld is why I’m leaning towards the motobilt.

Love the longer video… I think you did it just right with telling us the plan, showing a little bit of fab, and then jumping to the key moments.

Can you do a video explaining air suspension design. Why you choose the type of bags you do, why you choose the size(?), what brand, etc. You are one of the biggest proponents of airbags in off road vehicles and there isn’t a lot of information out their on building your own system for 4x4s. Great video by the way. Its good to see you still creating content.

Dumb question maybe, but what's the easiest way to determine when the axle is at ride height when you're doing an axle swap and mocking up a 4 link setup?

I am super interested in how you plumb this, and why. I remember back in the day the Scorpion buggy with the forced articulation absolutely fascinated me, but I never understood how he achieved it. I have considered adding airbags to my CJ to improve my leaf sprung articulation, stability, and have adjustable ride height with winch to help suck it down when needed. I would love to see you do an episode on benefits / drawbacks, and theory on airbag suspension. I love what you are doing, you are still a huge asset to us broke knuckle heads trying to be cool.

This makes me want to build my OBS GMC RCSB K1500 the same way, or similar, if only I had the funds, the knowledge (I'm absorbing lol), the tools, and the space...oh, and maybe a 4 post 😅 hey a guy can dream for the moment lol

I would love to hear some of your thoughts about designing the 4 link geometry. Many people (myself included) obsess over numbers from a 4-link calculator, but your approach seems to be more of a "just figure it out" sort of style. Is that because you have so much experience that you have a good feel for what works, or do a lot of these things that people worry about (anti-squat, roll center, etc.) just not matter all that much?

were the roads slippery? any sandbags in the back for weight?

Noticed the Ford Blue PTFE grease on the slip yoke? That stuff is the best! Been using it on my 4Runner for years

love this build! be careful not to input too much heat into the stainless while welding it. welding dissimilar materials is tricky. It can make the stainless brittle and prone to cracking. I am sure you likely know that. but just wanted to note it. Bit of heat blanket insulation to slow cool it may be the best option.... and sweat the carbon before you join them to minimize hydrogen embrittlement

Please wear some face protection when welding. A good friend of mine got skin cancer on his cheek from turning his head to tack weld. He would always turn his head the same way.

With cutting frame parts off do you find a torch is best or plasma cutter?

Is it only possible to weld on the brackets to the pumpkin if it is cast steel?

Wow, its amazing how fast a plasma can cut thick steel. Would it work for tube notching too? Sounds like it could possibly be a bad idea lol
