Hey Dave, I’ve always watched all your 4x4 stuff even though I’m a minitrucker from the middle of Illinois where the ground is flat everywhere. Can’t wait to watch this one. Oh yeah, this is your open invitation to bring your truck to my club’s show. It’s called Camp n Drag and it’s in Waveland, Indiana. It’s always on the 3rd weekend in July. Awesome video! I bought a 75' D100 I plan to Bag next winter so it was great seeing this. I've never bagged anything, so it should be a hell of a fun project. Just have to drive it from Idaho back home to MN first 😂

Like the three link, thinking about something like that on my 95 Dakota. Tank is in the way for triangulated four link and prefer a watts link over a panhard but that’s bulky too. How good is that setup with side deflection for a daily or even light towing?

that bed looks like its more than 3.5". I had a mazda b2200 with a 4" BD in 2001. I can't believe that's 22 years ago. I had to cut a void in the hood and I had to cut cups in the floor for the seat mounts. It was so dope. I had magnesium blocks mounted to the back of the frame. I'd slam it and blow sparks 30' behind me lol. Then I got arrested 4 times. I had pathfinder wheels and could tuck lugnuts. it was awesome. did you cut the floor along the firewall? I cut high on the firewall when I did mine. Pretty sweet though. I think about it all the time.

I’m a Nissan fan. Had a 280zx and 2003 Xterra. Those hardbody’s are cool. Can be lifted too.

Cool, I need mine for a work truck in the summer. I don't think I'll be dropping my Plymouth Arrow Sport pick up. I'm waiting for David to get me to help him on some Roadkill projects. I don't know if or when that'll happen.

What’s the plan for bedside clearance? 720 rear axle might be a little narrower. I used to know all the measurements but I’m old and forgetful.. I flared the bed sides on my xcab and never really liked it. I want to 3/4 frame my truck and change the wheelbase to accept a reg cab bed and if i ever get started on it I’m gonna narrow the axle so the bedsides can remain stock width Lovin the content! Keep at it!

Dave luv the channel .luv your work. But you need to edit your show to 12-15 min. They are to long. Sorry just my opinion.

Have you thought about just pushing the bedsides out like some of the ore-runner guys do ? They would probably move 3/4 to an inch out easy. You end up with a slight wide body look.

I love this body style nissans I've owned 4 4wd models ,my boss still has his 94 he bought new in Cali that he drove here to wv back in 95. One of my all time favorite truck . There is a California company called alpha ev that makes a pickup that has a similar style called the alpha "wolf" check it out its the raddest ev I've seen

Dave, years ago you used Aire Jax toggles switch for the car. You spoke highly of that set up, are you still using them now or simialr manual setup?

I'm late to the game but to make the wheels fit, bulge the fender with bracing. You only need about 3/4" each side.

You have to use 4wd lower valance with 4wd fenders I learned from my mistake just an FYI love the build

Why didn't you do a stock floor body drop instead of the traditional way? You wouldn't of lost any head room . Just curious!

Burning or welding galvanized metal is really really bad for you to breath you should be using a respirator while welding it

I don’t know if anyone has mentioned it, but you could do a slight bulge on the bedsides like on a budget prerunner and gain some bedside width that way???

Love the variety! Long form, short, 4x4, motorcycles, mini trucks, all good and interesting to learn about. One thing I’d be interested in is how you make decisions about doing a 4x4 build. Like one tons ok, but WHICH one tons and why. Same with transfer cases and springs and link design, etc. Thanks for sharing your expertise and enthusiasm and even hiccups too!!

Shave the mounting face of the wheels, shave a little off the axle faces and the back lips of the drums. A little here a little there. Still might have to roll the lips though. Or use different wheels and make it easy.

I use diamond masonry wheels in my grinder to cut cast iron tubs in half when I demo bathrooms. They work great for cutting sheet metal, are way safer to use and you don't have to replace them every 5 seconds.

Great work man! Now that the fender tub is touching the top rail do you use seam sealer or anything to keep water from getting in the crack and rusting or is it not an issue?

89-95 toyota axle is 1 inch narrower than the hardbody rear end but it's 5 lug

Grab a rear housing and axles out of a 2wd Nissan 720. If I remember correctly they're 3-1/2-4 inches narrower, and you can use your original 3rd member. I did it years ago with my ex cab 96 hardbody Because of the high offset kmc 20's.

Slammed and bagged isn't my thing, but I can appreciate the skill.

Cool build..."all of them". My 1st non piece of crap vehicle was a twin for your Nissan, only 4x4. 3 or 4 trucks & about 20 years later, I'd still see it running around. Sucks about DED, Motortrend is really slipping. Good we can still watch Fred & you on RU-vid. Will you two ever collaborate on your respective channels in the future?

We did a body drop on my 17 mile, 1992 Isuzu pickup the day after I got it new. I was part of the original Mini Madness low rider club in the Tampa area.

I have a 95 short obs airbagged retired show truck and a lifted xj, a 64 econoline mid engine altered wheel base gasser, a 2000 blk 2 door zr2 4x4 blazer, and a 87 red 454 long bed low mi. Trailer hauler.. all trucks are awesome great content....

I have a Jeep TJ that had a small electrical fire under the dash which melted a lot of wires. I was wondering where to get a wire harness. I am going to put an engine harness from Holly(LS swap) so I only basically need it for the lights and stuff not so much the dash gauges.

I ran into the same problem with my Nissan. Instead of narrowing it I used a rear axle out of a 82’ Mazda and it fit perfect.

Dave with your love of air suspension do you have an opinion on the rolling lobe style bags vs the double convoluted? From my understanding the rolling lobe is better due to the spring rate not increasing as rapidly as pressure increases.
