thanks for the video and sorry I don't seem to understand when you turn on and off the Nav & Logo. Thank you so much

The NAV lights must be switched on during all operations on the ground or in the air from sunset to sunrise or in bad weather where visibility is limited; this usually means they are turned on when the engine aircraft is powered during these times. The use of the them during the day varies by airline. The NAV 1 and NAV2 positions of the switches on some aircraft are because there are two sets of identical bulbs for two circuits. These work in the same way and are purely to improve the life of the systems or incase of failure of one. Logo light use is optional and is dependent on airline policy. Usually the logo lights will be used at night or in poor visibility whilst at the gate, taxiing and takeoff to aid recognition of aircraft by ATC and other grounded traffic. The logo lights are sometimes linked to the same circuits the NAV lights and in most instances turn off automatically once the main gear leaves the ground

what lights are on (steady, not flashing) when the plane is cruising - say in the middle of the Pacific Ocean - in darkness?
@ALL4AVIATION

Steady not flashing lights are only NAV - Navigational lights. Crew might also turn on the Wing lights if they want to observe the wing and engines during the night.

Beacon Light are to advice engines are going to start-up, not that engines are runing, and they should be ON until engines are OFF

Yep that's right. If you listen carefully then you will notice that I have said that Beacon light should be ON before starting up the engines.
