Today, We're going to be looking into Noise Abatement procedures and also what to do when you have a Flaps & Slats Jammed / Locked situation. We'll show you how to handle this professionally as Real World pilots would and bring the A/C back in for a nice Smooth landing.
We'll be performing these exercises at a holding point in and out of Gatwick Airport in London, EGKK
Don't forget to like and subscribe! :) And let us know your thoughts in the comments below! :)

This is one of the most underrated RU-vid channel for aircraft systems and knowledge using a simulator. Another brilliant video. We need a separate camera man whilst you focus on teaching us !!!

Excellent, just 2 days ago I was asking you for a video for noise abatement, and naw you did it. Many thanks, I love it

Operational limitations (For Noise Abatement): 1. “The pilot in command has the authority to decide not to execute a noise abatement departure procedure if conditions preclude the safe execution of the procedure.” 2. “Aircraft operating procedures for the departure climb shall ensure that the safety of flight operations is maintained while minimising exposure to noise on the ground.” In case pilot faces some abnormal situation, Noise Abatement got low priority. It can be abandoned without any consequences. Also: “Nothing in these procedures shall prevent the pilot-in-command from exercising authority for the safe operation of the aeroplane.”

Greatly informative video as always, thank you! Thinking of the tragic loss of Air France 447 in mid Atlantic in 2009 due to icing conditions, would it be possible to make a video showing how to control the aircraft when the Pitot tubes etc. are blocked with ice giving false Airspeed and Altitude readings etc. Thanks again for all your work which helps people like me enormously.

Capt....Max Spd for diversion you found Max Spd - 10kts, so flaps stuck Spd you got was 200kts then y u didn't subtract 10 kts from that? (And made it 190kts?)

Max Speed -10 for the circuit, the over all goal was to keep a healthy speed while not over speeding the A/C. Worked out in the end :)

Great video. Just a clarification about the Single engine taxi. Don’t you normally start engine 1 first as per green procedures?
@waypointsaviation
@waypointsaviation 8 месяцев назад
Yes you’re right single engine taxi is with eng 1 to pressurize the green system, however engine 2 pressurizes the yellow system which pressurizes green via the PTU so all good I guess :)

Thanks for the great video!! I have a question. We still have A/THR on, and we still see the characteristic speed(S, F) changing as we lower the flap lever down. Why the selected speed must be used in abnormal flaps/slats config?
@waypointsaviation
@waypointsaviation 8 месяцев назад
Hi there, good question, we're using selected speed to help keep the speeds locked at the minimum speed we want it to stay at, if we allow managed it would lower the speed to much lower which can be dangerous for us. Hope this helps :)

Hello sir, I'm still a little confused about NADP procedures. I can't understand what you mean since there is no definitive marker in the charts. So it does not say NADP1 or NADP2. However, sometimes 800ftAGL/3000ft(800ft) AGL and sometimes 1000ftAGL/3000ftAGL are entered. I still don't understand this concept clearly. :( (btw, I would like to thank you very much. I normally work by reading the FCOM, FCTM and QRH of a Turkish airline(not thy), but thanks to you, I have learned the practical working procedures of the systems.)

O Wow, welcome to my home Airport Gatwick i have departed and landed so many times without realising this procedure. I shall be more careful in the future in relation to the noise abatement procedures as always so grateful can i ask what version of simulator you use ie i use flight sim 2020 only i notice on your landing into Gatwick there was two ATC Towers

So it means in real life the "observing stations" don't even give a sh*t about the noise whatsoever. It is published on the paper just to show the rich around the airport that they do "care". Anyway, this is an awesome video, many thanks for making it available. Btw, is it true to start the ENG1 first in case of one-engine taxi out (to take advantage of normal braking powered by the green hyd system)?
@waypointsaviation
@waypointsaviation 8 месяцев назад
@tranhuuhung2508 yup, whether they care or now it’s the thought that counts 🤣 Yes you’re right, we do single engine taxi with Eng 1 however given the Airbus advanced ptu firing up engine 2 allows the green system to be pressurized via the yellow and the ptu so yeah I guess all good.
@tranhuuhung2508
@tranhuuhung2508 8 месяцев назад
@@waypointsaviation I thought PTU only comes in when there is a low pressure in either Green or Yellow. The PTU self-test occurs when the 2nd engine is started. So, when you start ENG 2 for single engine taxi out, only the Yellow pressurized by the time. Do I miss something here? Thanks for the reply.
@guiduz3469
@guiduz3469 3 месяца назад
Why starting #2 first if you are planning a single engine taxi?
@waypointsaviation
@waypointsaviation 2 месяца назад
In the Airbus FCOM: it states to start Eng no# 2, to power the yellow hydrolic system, which pressurise the Parking brake.

Amazing how the pilot deviate from procedure !!!! DONT DO THE SAME ! very dangerous video. Aircraft configuration using vfe-5knots never done and autoland when airbusbsays below 500 feet AP not use !!! You dont have autoland ! Unusual aircraft behavior does not allow you to use AP below 500 ft as you can see in the qrh check list
