Aircraft registration is D-AIMB. Landing took place on runway 26R. Filmed by Nathan Moeller of Astro95 Media.

It is still so surreal witnessing the magnitude of such awesomeness with this HUGE airplane I swear! Lol I was happy hearing that despite the plane not being made anymore, Arab Emirates is nearly at full, pre-pandemic force of all their a380s fleet flying in the air again, according to reports! Just amazing really..

I saw my first LH440 A-380 in 2013. This airplane is incredibly huge. I also saw LH441 taking off in runway 15 and 33. It is such an exciting experience. It is so sad to see both A-380 and Boeing-747 disappearing.

I wasn’t sure if you realised that this A380-800 was the largest aircraft in the world at the time, just after it taxied past you there was an A319 landing behind her. Currently the smallest Airbus in the family.

No, the smallest is the A318.
@adrianleigh7410
@adrianleigh7410 8 месяцев назад
@@franspasteels3420 I stand corrected. I wasn’t aware of the A318. When I was at BAe in Manchester there was only the A300,320,330 and 340. The 380 was still an artist’s impression and we were just cutting the first test ribs 5a/5b for the inboard undercarriage for the 380 wings out of hdf.
@Astro95Media
@Astro95Media 6 месяцев назад
It was the largest passenger aircraft, but not the largest overall. The An-124 and An-225 (RIP) were larger. And yeah the A318 is an adorable little thing. Seen one or two of them here from Avianca and it's amazing how stubby they are. They have to have a larger tail to compensate for the shorter fuselage (akin to the 747SP).

Make no mistake that the A380 in itself is an incredible feat of engineering. Despite of it's sheer size, it still have a market for it, especially to those high density routes. I've been one on an Emirates and this bird is super quiet. Inside the cabin is huge.Even on take off, you hardly feel the push. Now we have more economical twin engines to enjoy too, the 787 and the A350
@Astro95Media
@Astro95Media 3 года назад
The engineering is amazing, but there's not nearly enough demand to keep the program going. It was basically built for Emirates and that's it. Out of the 1,200 planes they expected to build (that's the number I recall), only 251 rolled off the assembly line. Airbus never even recovered the $25B development price tag. No doubt that it's an impressive plane, but if it were a movie, it would be a box-office bomb.

The Trent 7000 on the A330neo has never failed and no crashes. The Trent 1000 on the 787 has not failed. Standard RR maintenance picked up unusual wear so engines were changed at RR expense. The wings for this plane were assembled where I live in NE Wales and transported down the River Dee on a specifically built barge to a port where they were forwarded to France to be assembled into the final aircraft. I walked by the river many times and was able to witness the wings on the barge just waiting for a high tide to move downstream. I think there were two barges and one was called Bala (Welsh Lake) I forget the second.

Yeah it's weird. The final production frame comes here from DXB periodically, but it's weird how unceremonious it all is. When the 747 production ended, that was a HUGE deal.

The Song on the end is " bavarian style", trust me, Germany is not only bavarian.... Pretzels an White Saussages is not the " German Way of life", visit us on Lower Saxony, Saxony, Thuringa etc. you will see Germany is more as Pretzels, in german we know als Brezeln.... :)

It was a special event held by the airport for the inaugural arrival. The area, which is located off FM1960, is normally used for HPD training and is off limits to the public.

A340... they are no longer produced. It is now A330, which is a double-engines version of the A340.

They could probably take one empty, but the operator would be getting a hefty bill for runway repairs a couple of seasons later!

@Astro95Media

It's a training area for the Houston Police department north of the airport (normally closed to the public). They opened it up for this event, though.

Astro95Media I used to have an area at my airport where you were able to pull off the road and actually park and watch the planes either takeoff or land, all depending on which way the wind was blowing, casue I know that planes pretty much always at least takeoff into the wind, but after 9/11 happened, the permently closed it off, whch I totally understood back then but while it was opened, it was a fantastic to do a lot of planbe watching......

Andrew Silva Thankfully, there are plenty of spots around IAH for everyday spotting. This isn't one of them, but the tops of the garages and the end of one of the runways provide awesome vantage points.

Yeah we likely won't see these carrying passengers again. We knew the end was near for the A380 production line, but I hate that they were ultimately killed off by a virus.
