To see this much aviation history flash by in 58 minutes gives a real sense of the astonishing technological advances that took place in such a short time. Especially the aircraft of 1930, where they didn't look that different from WWI just 12 years earlier, when you know what WWII aircraft looked like 12 years in the future.

Everytime I see an original one of those old birds in the air I hold my breath and bite my nails for fear that it may be lost. My hope is that they will be around as long as humanity is, however long or short a time that may be.

As a hang glider pilot, these were the RC planes i built as a kid. Would have loved to live in that era. Flying, the obsession of mankind for almost 6000 years and only became accessible in our times. What an amazing privilege. Thanks Wilbur and Orville for cracking its secret.

Why not? If you did that at 18 years old, you still can. Gravity and air density haven't changed much. Go for it. A co-pilot might be a good idea, but I bet you still know what to do. How long have you been a pilot?

Translation : Used to seeing microlights flying over my head, but seeing these replicas of old machines from 1910 flying on RU-vid comforts me on how little progress has been made since then. Congratulations to the pioneers of aviation!!!

What a beautiful collection. Which I could afford to visit the U.K. to see it. Truly magnificent. I learned a lot in this video. I never knew Avro had a tri-plane. I have since read that only one was built and used as a trainer, and that this replica was used in the film ' Those Magnificent Men in Their Flying Machines'. I had never heard of the Bristol M.1. Most of these were used in the Middle East, not the Western front. The AVRO 504 was the most built plane from that period, with production continuing into 1940's. More than 10,000 were built. The DH88 is the earliest monoplane I had ever seen that looked like it would fit in with most WWII aircraft. Its a racing plane.

I never´ll forget the day, coming from Spain, I visited the Old Warden Shuttleworth Collection. It wasn´t during an airshow, and none of the aircraft were to be flown that day. But the Shuttlewort Collection Team were so kind to let me to visit inside the hangars, taking all the photos I wanted, of all the planes, and to take a look at their restoration projects. What such good smell of oil, canvas, and rubber !..Thank you for sharing this video and to bring to my mind these good memories.

Love that Deperdussan, in fact all of those early pre-war birds. Then there is the great leap forward with the early WW1 planes. Towards the end of the war they seem to be much smoother fying. Then the Hurricane and the Spitfire came along at the right time for the second WW. Agood airshow all 'round.
