400g apples, cut into small pieces (about 4 to 6 apples depending on size) 175g butter/marg (I used marg) 175g caster sugar (I used granulated) 3 large eggs 2 tbsp milk 225g self raising flour 1 tsp cinnamon Topping: 85g self raising flour 55g butter, diced & chilled 55g demerara sugar Grease & line with parchment paper, a 9 inch (or 2 smaller tins) and set aside. In a large bowl, beat the sugar and butter until light and fluffy. Add one egg at a time, beating in between. Stir in the milk. Sift flour & spice then gently fold the small apple chunks. Put into prepared cake tin/s. Set aside and in a bowl, add the flour and chilled butter, rub until breadcrumb like. Add the demerara sugar and fully mix in. Sprinkle on top of cake. Preheat AF for 5 mins on 165c/340f (I took out my crisper plate otherwise cake is too near element) lower cake into AF carefully and continue on BAKE setting for a further 45/50 mins approx - cover top of cake with foil around the 25/30 min mark (check topping) weigh foil down with metal spoons Once cake reaches temp (93c - 98c) remove spoons (they will be hot!) and take cake out to cool in tin before serving with hot custard or ice cream.
Hi There Dear Kerry , On the weekend I made a Apple cake from the Apple Trees I have in the garden and made lots of apple sauce and freeze , A little trick I do when I make a cake in the Air-fryer I use a Ring mould because it half the time and don’t have to worry about the top browning ❤ I have a Ring mould made of Pyrex and it fits perfect ❤
I make this recipe before but instead of mixing apples into the dough I layer it on top then top with crumble mixed with walnuts on top , it does make it a lot easier to slice and serve it doesn’t collapse quite so easily 😊
Yum! Kerry that looked sooo! Good, a girl after my own heart, I love lots of custard with my cake, looks a brilliant recipe must try it, thank you, take care.
That looks so good!!!…I have a different model Cosori but love, love it…Now all I need is your custard recipe!!! From Southern California, thank you, Kiddo!!!
Hi Kerry, my mouth is watering will definitely be trying this one at the weekend. Crumble is one if my favourites, in fact I've just made my Christmas mince pies to freeze for the celebrations, made the traditional ones but also deep fill mince pies but instead of a lid I put crumble mix on top they taste really nice. Love your channel, take care, Tilly x
Hi Kerry, it looks lovely, my mouth was watering as you were eating it. I've only done a couple of cakes in my dual blaze and they didn't turn out very well and one was a Xmas cake
I do this cake in my oven normally but will try it in my AF. My son in law can’t get enough of it. I have a tower AF so will see how I go. I got this same recipe from Jane’s Patiserie book x
You don't have to preheat the duel blaze apple crumble. I love it. You're making my mouth water Just put your cake in turn on i have this model. I enjoy your videos ❤
I always swing with preheat or no preheat when using AFs, I agree you generally don't need to but its become a habit where I follow the recipe as precisely as possible and they always say preheat 😄👍💕 Thank you as well!!
I've never heard of that type of cake Kerry, apple crumble or eve's pudding yes but not both together, but seeing as I love both of them that would be so good, especially with the custard, another great recipe and video flower 💞Xx
Morning Kerry, this one isn't for me. I would have a bowl of the "burnt" crumble and custard because that crumble looks perfect to me 😂😂. What a fantastic overall price. Not a chance you would be able to buy an apple cake or apple crumble, never mind both. I've sent you an email with a video & photo of Harrisons Halloween costume for this year 🦴🪣💔. See you on the live on Friday xxxx Jacs 💚❤️🏴
Hi there Kerry! Wot a fab recipe thank you but wondering how I could work that with a single top element air fryer as the bottom may need turning over to brown? Any advice please! But looks so good so want to try 😋xxx
Hi Caroline👋😀did this cake in AF with just top element (no turning required) follow baking instructions there - hopefully that'll do it👍💕 ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-y_6566GTutk.htmlsi=i410FmpEfW1oRgQJ
I've done keto in the past and haven't got the specialist sweeteners you need amy more - but I have gone hunting for a decent looking recipe and found this: thebigmansworld.com/keto-birthday-cake-recipe/#wprm-recipe-container-33397 😀👍💕
