Great rifles, all HW's. Best choice for a springer. i wish that i could shoot with iron sights but i have difficult to focus my eye so have to mount a scope. Thanks for showing mate! 👍

I couldn’t agree more, they really are fantastic. Using iron sights is definitely becoming more of a challenge for me as I get older. I wear trifocals so if I look at the ground too long bugs start bursting into flames. Thanks for stopping by and leaving a comment.

I had one of these a few months ago, In UK there called a 99s, was a very accurate gun, l have the 97 it has the same chequerin as yours it's a 2017 gun, brilliant rifle, actually it's more accurate than the Air arms I've had last year, TX200 Hc and a Pro sport, they ain't as well engineered as the Weihrauch. Good video.

@Guru1ofatl Год назад
It's hard to beat the HW50/99 for the money, especially if you're looking for something handy to carry in the woods. For ultimate accuracy though, the HW97 is probably the best springer on the market. The big advantages over the TX200 for me are the easier loading and shorter stroke. Thanks for stopping by!
@6lr6ak6
@6lr6ak6 Год назад
@@Guru1ofatl exactly my thoughts, infact the only thing l like of the TX200s is the stock,, l honestly think the 97 is the best gun Weihrauch make, they really are faultless and in over 30 years that's a first for me.

I own two HW30S springers, both with open sights, next to my HW97K. I would highly recommend the HW30S is you have grandkids because they're much easier to cock and shoot for kiddos. Heck, even I enjoy them. But like you said, you can't go wrong with either.

I don't think you'll be disappointed. I ended up going with another 50 and couldn't be happier. Detuned to around 650fps with a Daisy peep sight and it is a pleasure to shoot. Thanks for stopping by, let me know how your new gun is working out for you once you've got it!

Enjoyed your video and Very Nice open site shooting. I would highly recommend the 30. I have a .20cal R7 that I would probably never sell. Also enjoy my .22 cal HW 95. I literally kill hundreds of starlings and house sparrows off my suet cages every year with my little R7. Shoots FTTs into 1 ragged hole. Being .20cal its pretty much limited to 30yds tho.

I don't have the HW50, I'm sure that it is nice. I have never heard of a bad Weihrauch, lol. I do have the HW30s, lots of fun, easy handling, easy accuracy. I even have taken a few squirrels 🐿️🐿️ with head shots with the HW30s🙂👍.
@Guru1ofatl
@Guru1ofatl Год назад
The HW50 is well balanced and so nice to carry but I'm really drawn to the HW30. You're absolutely right about head shots and if I'm being honest with myself, most of my squirrel shots are within 30 yards.
@marcmyers1465
@marcmyers1465 Год назад
An HW 50S handles perfectly. Very much like an FWB 124 only with a MUCH Better trigger. Perfect power to weight ratio in the briar's. I AM over due for an HW 95, but only as a "Companion" to my 50S. 😉 Herman Weihrauch just knew a thing or two about Springers... 🤷🏼‍♂️ I can talk myself into just about any Weihrauch, but I DO still have to sneak it past the Wife. 😒
@Guru1ofatl
@Guru1ofatl Год назад
@@marcmyers1465 I somehow managed to convince myself to buy another HW50. Not that there's such a thing as owning too many Weihrauch's. While the wife knew this one was coming, I can't say that's always the case. 😂

@@Guru1ofatl Was going to point out that .22 is easier for small kids and Olde eyes and fumble fingers to load. Skwerls don't care for them, a great deal... 😁 ! All that being said .177 drills in shot placement and the "Honest" potential of True Marksmanship ! 😊 As kids we knew EXACTLY what we could hit and of course as Adults it still vexes us to this very day !!! 😣
@Guru1ofatl
@Guru1ofatl Год назад
@@marcmyers1465 That's a good point about .22 and one I didn't consider. I was thinking .177 since it would retain a flatter trajectory when detuned. That said, the thwak of a slow moving .22 is so satisfying.

@@Guru1ofatl Too Heavy for the Troops... 🤷🏼‍♂️ Still the most accurate peep sighted recoiling Springer I own, surpassing my HW55's. 'Course the sightline of an "Original" 35 Export with the 22" barrel is an honest 36"... 😏👍 😂😂😂 LOL.

@@Guru1ofatl The latch grows on you Very quickly. The WEIGHT... @Guru1ofatl Год назад
@@marcmyers1465 That tactile aspect of the latch appeals to me but I'd be concerned letting someone else shoot it for fear that they'd try to break the barrel conventionally. The HW50 has been my favorite format for going on 30 years now. I have an HW55M, an HW55CM, 2 Beeman HW50M's and an HW50S/HW99 Basically All the same format up to the last 26mm rendition without the threaded endcap. The early 25mm version has always been a sub12 gun, but with modern kit easily 10.5 . Difficult to bring the short pistoned HW55's to that level, but the beauty of the HW50M was that it was a sporter stock with the Target Geometry and Profile of the HW55's coming in around 7.2 lbs. with true iron sights. I rarely have any issues out to 60 yards. 🤷🏼‍♂️ I should probably duplicate the stock for the R9 format ? 🤔

@marcmyers1465
@marcmyers1465 Год назад
@@Guru1ofatlThat particular 35 I mentioned is unusual as it was set up from the factory by Robert Law as a Long Range Match Rifle ? 🤔 I heard there was a Second one sold to a Gentleman down in Fla. The 55CM without the barrel weight is about the lightest Match Rifle you can shoot. The 55M was a club gun but just oozes Codgermeister Charm warts and all. All heavily tuned and butter smooth. Once a rifle gets that smooth and quiet you Live for the whisper of the piston inhaling and the gentle click of the trigger sear. 😌

@@marcmyers1465 That 35 is one heck of a find! So much of what I enjoy about airguns is the tactile aspect of well fitted machinery doing work. There's definitely something to be said for the look and feel of the older air and rimfire target guns.

I still have a few magnum springers and powder burners if it comes down to it but either 30 or 50 should fit my needs in most cases. I have to admit, shooting Aimee's HW50 definitely pushes me in that direction though 😁
@marcmyers1465
@marcmyers1465 Год назад
@@Guru1ofatl I'm reasonably certain that you still NEED an HW 30S... 🤷🏼‍♂️ Two Grandchildren ! 😉 And the 30S is Still the easiest to shoot WELL !! 😉😉 Factor in the support of their Mother and Grandfather and that equals 2 more lifetimes of shooting... = Years of Family Fun and a subsequent lean budget fer Opa... 🤐 They do still sell pellets by the case. 😊 If you run out of Skwerls, I'll send you a crate ! 🤨
@Guru1ofatl
@Guru1ofatl Год назад
@@marcmyers1465 Given enough time, I can always convince myself I need a new airgun regardless of my frugal side. 😁 After shooting Aimee's detuned HW50 for a while, I'm leaning in that direction. Given the size of the powerplant, the HW30 is what it is. The HW50 can be tuned down to plinking levels for reduced cocking effort or bumped back up to hunting levels. The only downside is the weight difference. Now I'm picturing a crate full of skwerls! Packing those has got to be a hoot! 🤣🤣🤣
