As a northeast Ohio licensed Home Inspector, Barry Sigler Inspections LLC, I often see attic intake soffit vents blocked with insulation. I did a few hours ago today. This is an indication of a lack of knowledge for whoever installed the insulation. It could be a contractor or even a homeowner. I applaud Paul Scelsi and Air Vent for their efforts to educate the masses. A vent is not a vent, if air cannot flow through it. It is cosmetic only.

This is the video that made me investigate what was really underneath the PVC vinyl soffit whoever installed it put it up over what was existing without removing the old clogged up vents. once I remove the old vinyl and replace the vents things started to get a lot better. I added small fans underneath The Whirlybirds on the roof and put them on a my attic currently doesn't get above 20 degrees of the ambient it was 109 the other day and the attic never got above 121. I am currently renovating it's not over yet but this advice was priceless thank you very much
