Great overall summary of the market Nik. I love the addition of monthly market updates. As a V-22 guy, I’m sad to see my dream airline not counting fixed wing time, but Bill said it best, “if you’re getting flight time still, you’re winning”. Looking forward to the next episode.
My End Goal is to do Contract Jet work but This podcast really does help me keep my eye on the 121 world as I'm about to be doing time building phase once I get all my CFI, CFII and MEI done. Seems to be a crunch period and even if the economy comes roaring back in 2025 the plane problems aren't gonna make it easy. Still seems like the sticking in the game is how you win not trying to time it.
I’m the dude who has been updating his app with United after every flight. Already have the CJO through UMPP, but need to get the 50 Hrs/12 month requirement, so I’m updating after every flight 😅
Hi Nik. I watched the podcast last week and perhaps I missed the part where you mentioned the code was expiring. I anted to purchase and use the code today (July 22), planning on going to OBAP. Any chance I can get a code? Thanks!
I have two check ride failures. I failed the oral for private the first time out. 2nd time out I passed the oral, and then passed some of the flying, I failed on pilotage dead reckoning. lots went into it. lot of circumstances. am I still going to be able to get a job with a major airline? or should I just give this up now. in the past with taking test. I usually have to fail a time or two before I pass it, I'm just over all not great with test taking. I did the landings and take offs successfully the skills part of it, I did fine the DPE said it was the books stuff that was getting me.
I say keep pushing. You can bounce back from this if you’ve learned from those check failures and can articulate that in an interview. Going forward, do not make it a pattern on your IFR, CPL, etc
@christianalcantara337 thanks for the advice. I want to be a pilot extremely bad. I'm 31 going to be 32 soon, I'm trying to get to the finish line by 35. I think that could be part of the problem trying to rush myself along. I made a dumb mistake on my flight plan that was avoidable, and now I have that 2nd L on my record. It's been a challenge to stay motivated on the big goal.
@@becraftcorey YES!!!!! it’s all about how you recover and the grace and humility you display while talking about what you learned from the experience. The Spitfire Elite team has a huge background in helping you tell your story.
Take your time man there’s no rush. Study until you feel ready and if you need more explanation ask your instructor. It reflects badly on them if you fail so they will do anything to help you pass. Ask other people who have used that DPE the type of questions they ask. If you don’t feel ready the day of the checkride you can always reschedule. Remember you are the PIC if you don’t feel comfortable don’t do it!
