Flamingos come to Thane creek annually to feed on proliferating blue-green algae. They stay for a few months before flying back to their breeding grounds. Between November & May is a great time to spot flamingos in Mumbai especially at the Thane creek flamingo sanctuary where they number in tens of thousands.
