Hi, I have a question, I am an international traveler who is about to travel to the United States, and I have a stopover in Miami but my destination is Houston. When I get off the plane in Miami, what is the first thing I have to do? Go get my suitcase and go through immigration with my checked suitcase or go to immigration first and right after migration, pick up my suitcase. Since I need to do the Baggage Drop off in Miami.
It depends on the length of your stopover. If it is few hours, you are better of with checking in your bag at UK airport and claim it at Houston airport. At Miami, after you get off the plane, straight head to the next gate for the Houston flight. You “cross” the border or custom/immigration at Houston. If the stopover is more than 24 hours, checkin you bag at UK airport but claim it at Miami, go through customs and show up next day to fly to Houston. Hope this helps.

So practically my question is, when I get off the plane do I have to go directly to Passport Control and I imagine that after passing through there is the baggage claim ?. A friend of my mother usually goes to the United States very often and she told me that just getting off the plane I have to go get my suitcase and pass along with my suitcase checked by immigration and that just going through immigration would be the Baggage Drop Off. Because I have to do the Baggage Drop Off in Miami when I just arrive so that they can upload my luggage to the plane that will take me to Houston. So what should I do first, what mi friends mom told me or what my others have told me to do.

IF yes, you would have the option of using the traim to get to the luggage claim. and then for the exit...... am i right? It's my first time to MIchigan and I confess I'm a little nervous. You are correct about tram, baggage claim and exit. You will be in Concourse A from Tampa most probably. Tram is good when you have heavy luggage and either around Gate 1 or 70. If you are around Gate 25, no point of taking Tram. McNamara is so conveniently designed with signages that it is hard to miss the exit or direction. You would be perfectly alright!
