Super Mario Bros. Wonder music that has been extended to 30 minutes. Composer(s): Koji Kondo, Shiho Fujii, Sayako Doi & Chisaki Shimazu Game: Super Mario Bros. Wonder • Super Mario Bros. Wond...
This new era of SMM-SMB1 Airship remixes is the best. I popped off when I heard it in Odyssey’s intro and I popped off even harder here since it’s used in an actual level. I hope the SMB3 Airship theme takes a well deserved break for a while because I was getting a lil tired of it after a while.
SMB3 has a more orchestrated and grand feel to it, something representative of an airship fleet as seen in 3D Land or Galaxy. This takes a more intense and serious approach to the airship theme which is rather refreshing for the provided style of airships in the game (being more mechanical and dark), but it wouldn't fit any of the previous airship levels in past games. While SMB3 was overused quite a bit, it fit the levels it backdropped well and honestly this was a great way to transition into the new theme. Now if only we could get the SMB3 naval ship level in a new game..
@@anthonybrantley7600Mario Maker original SMW level tracks are probably much harder to work in, cause like a lot of SMWs music they aren't original compositions, they're arrangements of SMWs main theme
@@anthonybrantley7600 It probably won’t happen, for the same reason Super Mario World’s Underground theme hasn’t been heard since… Super Mario World. Because every level theme in that game is an arrangement of the game’s main theme, it feels too specific for Super Mario World. That’s probably why Kondo has defaulted to using the Super Mario Bros. 1 Airship theme instead.
@@anthonybrantley7600O don't think it'll get the same treatment, because it follows the SWM gimmick of the entire level music being variation of the same melody.
I love this remix of the Super Mario Maker Airship theme. It sounds perfectly threatening like the Super Mario Bros.3 theme, but it has a sense of dread that feels iconic and sounds like you've heard it since '85!
@@ilikecurry2345 …You’ve lost me two stops ago. This is a remix of the Super Mario Bros. Airship theme from Super Mario Maker. In this context, ‘85 is correct.
Kinda crazy this comes from an actual game, with non official levels, with a remix of an area not used in the og game, yet it made it this far! I was so happy to hear this pop up, with the most unused game style!
Indeed. We wanted a remix of that, and instead of getting ine from a competant, but ultimately unofficial source, Koji Kondo and his associate came to us and said "don't worry, we got you, guys" and got us this masterpiece.
This theme came so far so fast in such a short stretch of time considering it was just meant to be a stand in for the airship theme for SMB1 since that game didn't have an airship level to pull from.
Something I recently thought about when thinking about this iteration of the airship theme is that it’s meant to fit a more mechanical kind of vessel. SMB1’s Airship tile set in Maker is all black and bolted together, as if it were made of metal and not wood like we’ve seen before. Seeing as this is now the second mainline game with this iteration of the airship theme, I could see Nintendo making Bowser’s armadas more industrial as opposed to traditional wood in the future
Where has this BEEN my entire life? A Mario game with metal music is so damn rad Let’s hope they stick with this motif for Airship because the SM3 airship theme needed a break for a LONG time
Yeah, I found the entire game easier than the other 2d titles I've played, though that isn't necessarily a bad thing. The only ones I really struggled with were the Jump, Jump, Jump levels.
@@collinherrin4596 je suis d'accord, mais ce que je veux dire c'est que si Nintendo veulent faire un remix aussi bien que smb1 Nintendo en est capable, ou alors faire un remix en mélangeant smb1 et smb3
Super Mario Maker 3 better give us some Mario Wonder level sets. Even if they don't let us make acid trips (i.e Womder flowers), I want to be able to make Wonder-themed Desert and Airship level. Wonder has the best musoc for these two types of levels in all of 2D Mario games.
Wonder's smm smb1 airship theme is awesome now we either need an enhanced port of smm2 on the next gen Nintendo console or smm3 with mario wonder style
@@sullivans2004dude they stopped updating the game years ago and a new nintendo console is due any day now so a sequel or a port just makes sense especially when you realize that mario maker 2 is almost 5 years old and there is so much more content they can add. Some possibilities for new stuff would be: wonder style, smb 2 style, super mario land 2 style, nsmb style, beach theme, volcano theme, more character based powerups for smb1 one such as a samus power up, hammer suit and tanooki suit for smb 3, purple and yellow yoshis for smbw, baby yoshis for smbw and nsmb u (with nsmbu ones having their unique abilities), penquin suit and ice flower for nsmbu, reznor for all styles, purple and yellow koopa variants for either all styles or just smbw, charging chuck for smbw, bonzai bill blaster for all styles, ptooie plants for all styles, ice pirahna plants for nsmbu, bommerang and fire bros for all styles, ice bros for nsmbu or all styles, etc
@@sullivans2004 What do you mean “too recent”? Super Mario Maker 2 came out five years ago! It came out four years after the first game, so it’s totally possible they could give us a proper sequel. It’s nothing like Splatoon 3, where that game came out less than two years ago and only just received DLC.
Too bad the airships/flying battleships are so underused in this game. This is so sick it's unreal. I want this in the next Smash game if there is one.
0:00 Ooh, ok nice sounds 0:07 You gonna start soon? 0:15 Oh here we go! 0:25 This sounds so cool! 0:40 Wait, this sounds familiar 0:54 WAIT NO F*CKING WAY!
I like it but where is the SMB3 Airship Remix in this Style? That theme is iconic for a good reason. Both that and Sonic's Green Hill could keep getting remixed forever and I would never get tired of it. When it first played in Galaxy I was overjoyed same with in Galaxy 2 but in the latter you don't get to hear much of it outside the prologue. Honestly this theme would fit more if instead of Airships in this game, Bowser had Air-Castles, Basically Flying Castles that could function as ships.
It’s iconic for being the first Airship theme, since no games prior had “Airship”-style levels. But we’ve heard enough of it. Other games like Galaxy have used it because there was no other Airship music to pull from. After Super Mario Maker, Koji Kondo composed additional airship themes for other games retroactively. So I’m all for the “Super Mario Bros.” version getting some love. The Mario 3 one has been done to death. Just because other games have reused it doesn’t mean we should keep doing that. It’s good to mix things up.
Yeah.. maybe if you’ve never played a Mario game in your life or are only familiar with New Super Mario Bros. This totally sounds like something from classic Mario… and it was actually done by veteran composer Koji Kondo.
