1800 m Höhe so herrlich abzuturnen .
Luca had an awesome GIF of that one on one of his pages where he does like three level rotations at the top before coming back down, but I cant find it anymore.
@@rcbif101 Any idea if this is a Luca special move or do other competition level aerobatic pilots pull this one off as well? And do you remember if this move has a name? There might be an opportunity for me to have a seat in a Fox next week. Would be great if I could mention it properly.
@@marijnfly - iirc he called it something like a helicopter in the gif I saw, but I've seen powered planes do it too - though not as impressive without the big wings whipping around.
Luca your an awesome acrobatic glider pilot, never seen an inverted spin going up !!! Would kill to have a flight with you. Push that VNE, going🤪🙃🤯😱 on the video !!!
These planes are stressed for X number of positive Gs, and X number of negative (inverted) Gs. Always more positive say 6-8, and less negative 4-5. I don't remember the exact figures for the Fox. The skill is not over flying the absolute G limit, in either configuration. adding a passenger changes the loads, so this pilot needs to mentally compensate for the extra weight, just a tribute to his skill and experience.
Most gliders can't, generally only some gliders designed specifically for for acrobatics. Generally the roll rates are much higher on aerobatic gliders, the strength ratings are higher, and they usually have speed limiting air brakes too (i.e. you can point straight down with the brakes open and the glider won't go above VNE (max velocity))
Baschie Baschieba Genau ich war das letzte mal am 16.06.2019 bei euch und bin dieses Toole Segelflugzeug geflogen, zuletzt als ich meine praktische Prüfung auf dem Perkoz mit I.J hatte 🤪
For a profesional glider pilot,he was stressed for sure! Just pay attention to his hands and face. It was obviously out of his comfort zone! But kudos for him,as I would've pass away halfway through the aerobatics!
Flying to slow near the ground. Stalling isn't really a big deal, you will do it alot in training.. Just fly above stall speed and you won't stall the glider.
Hello Luca, I am a glider aerobatic pilot ( fly a fox all so D1995 ) Austria LOIH Hohenems. First I find you cool and nice , I am know other aerobatic glider pilots find him arrogant and a poser . I don't think so, yes you are a showman and make posing for the public. But I think you are the only one you make that right, in my opinion you must be that man to take sponsor s, you must be a showman. Sponsors don't want a Shy ( Mauerblümchen) Yea I find you are cool 👍. It's not a fine.... From other glider aerobatic piots find him a arrogant man. Take care.. and fly save Luca. 👍🦊. Greatings from Alex.
Personally I was surprised how nice, helpful and respectful he is. It was really great to hang out with him in Genderkingen the whole day. He is absolutely a professional airshow pilot and he does exactly know how to react to the public. That´s part of the show!
@@SteFly That s right 👍🦊 I am looking your Glider video s , I must say you are good , and your videos are very professional 👍. Sorry my English is a little bit shit .
Alexander Theissl thanks man. I appreciate your words and Stefan’s too. All the pilots Who think those things about me have been behind me in completion many times and they did not actually make this as professional job...these two things should already be enough to make them shout up :-P Glider aerobatics is an aviation discipline and there’re no lies about how good you are. See you soon mate ;-)
@@LucaBertossio Thanks Luca, when ever you come to Austria sometimes ( Vorarlberg ) you can ride my Fox every time 👍🦊 . Your Flathspinns (. Helicopter ) looks so extreme phantastic , ich whish I can to that so good . I'm always make a mistake when I will fly a Flathspinn , but I don't know what it not so works right 🤔. Luca have you Whatsup ? Alex tel : 0043 676 7750764
There were about a dozen things in that video that made me say, "Whoa!!" but the craziest was Luca getting out of the glider while it was still rolling!
Having watched many vids on learning and training for stall and spin recovery, is it fair to say that this sort of expert performance is based on a superior knowledge and application of those same skills? Sometimes deliberately out of control but knowing exactly what do do?
WOW , so cool 😎 ! I am a Skydiver and I want to try gliders one day , I think I am into aerobatics ! How much does it cost the gliding school and what type of glider do you need for aerobatics ? Any tips and recommendations ? Thank you. !
It cost me $4000 au$, n solo on the 5th day, think 20 take-offs n landings, 10years ago. Glider rental approx .50c-1.00 minite. The tow up by plane is the expensive part, charged by the minite or metres ($30 for 1,500 metres AGL) depending at which aero-dome you fly n if good thermals one can fly all day with one tow, cheap enough hobby for the average person. Good luck in yr future flying endeavours.
I wonder if the plane handles any different with two passengers , surely that is not a stock glider . To pull those G’s you would think would snap wings off of a regular plane . Pretty darn impressive , makes me want to try it.
not neccasarily, for a glider to be aerobatics rated, it has to be designed that even at full wing loading (aka, full glider balast and g loading) the aircraft must be within aerostructure stress limits, also the rudder pedals must have toe loops to stop the pilots feet moving under negative G
@@benjamindavies1188 sounds like you are familiar with gliders , are these high performance models very common ? If someone is interested in gliders do you need to have a pilots licence first or at all , or are gliders their own discipline ? What would you think a glider like this would cost ?
