The Dan Wesson 715 ASG is a new, updated airsoft revolver compared to odler Dan Wesson ASG. This time we get a replica of an actual replica, low power cartridges and adjustable hop up. Still get 6 shots only though.
Sadly, the power of the low power cartridge is even lower than expected (at least on the model I tried), and the performances are really poor (I'm only showing with the low power cartridge in the video, but the high power cartridges do not increase the performances).

Le Dan Wesson 715 ASG est une nouvelle version, mise à jour par rapport aux précédents Dan Wesson ASG. Cette fois nous avons un revolver qui réplique un vrai revolver, des cartouches basses puissance et un hop up ajustable. Toujours que 6 coups d'autonomie cela dit.
Malheureusement la puissance des cartouches basse puissance est encore plus basse que ce à quoi je m'attendais (du moins sur le modèle que j'ai testé) et les performances sont vraiment médiocres (je montre seulement avec les cartouches basse puissance dans la vidéo, mais les cartouches haute puissance n'améliorent pas les performances).

It seems the FPS being low may be attributed partially to the hammer being slower than molasses. When you shoot it in single action I can literally watch it fall forward and hit, instead of it snapping forward immediately like it should be. These guns work by the hammer hitting and holding down the 'firing pin' which actually releases CO2, so if the hammer is slow it only presses on the firing pin/button for a short period before rebounding back into a safe position, which makes it only release a little CO2 and as a result make the pellets fly rather slowly (full power shells should be around 400 on average and not 380-390, low power shells should be 200 on average and not 170-185).

For fucks sake, I was really hoping that they fixed the old WinGun Revolvers with this but its just the same shit all over again: Low Power Cartridges are way too low and High Power Cartridges are still too high. What is so fucking hard about making a revolver shoot between ~260 and 330 FPS and not have laughable accuracy? What is the point in a Hop-Up if it still shoots all over the place? ASG need to get their shit together.

I know it's an old video and all but I recently just found this gun and I fell in love with it. But my curiosity can't let one thing. I saw the 4” version comes with and able to use moon clip rounds. Where do you find low power CO2 cartridges? I can only ever find the high power ones. I'd love a revolver, but the only ones I can find are CO2 powered, and without the low power cartridges, they're ridiculous. My friend has an 8" WG one that shoots between 500 and 600 fps!

@edited I will test my own copy of the 715 soon as warm weather now permits me to do it and I really hope I won't get the same results as you did, because if your shooting test is relevant (I hope its not due to your weather conditions and shells used) then... the 715 is not the big improvement I was hoping to be.

+Outlaw Gang Airsoft I managed to test the gun indoor at 15 meters, results were the same. And I did try the "normal" cartridges : same thing, bbs are flying everywhere, as mentionned in the subtitles. I'm not glad to say that, I really wish this revolver to be great... But it's just not the case. Revolvers are "never" going to get as skirmishable as GBB for sure, but if you take Marui revolvers, they actually have decent performances and are very consistant.

KhanSeb I have to check the performance of the nagant version of this system, if they keep the cylinder system the real steel has, maybe it improves it consistency, as i think that the problem is in the fake bullets that dont make a good seal.

+KhanSeb Well, then... probably this revolver is not what I hoped it to be. Yes, the Marui revolvers are excellent, I have 3 Pythons from Marui, green gas, 0.25 BBs and accurate over 25 meters so yes, Marui is the best. But I was hoping this ASG DW 715 to be awesome, it is built so nicely, so solid... Oh well... sad news. I will do my test also but my hopes now are trashed :D Thanks for the replies!

+KhanSeb I have edited my first reply to you... because I have tested my version of the DW 715 ( temperature +8 C) and... you are 100% correct. With the low power shells I get like 65 m/s... which is too low to consider, with the high power shells I get about 130-125 m/s which is way too high. The speed is a little inconsistent... fluctuates 5m/s up and down... Accuracy... with the high power shells, heavier bbs and adjusted hop up... I get 18 meters, up to 20 meters but there isnt a great grouping... unfortunately. Performance wise is superior to the old DW but inferior to the Marui... so yes, you were correct! I will upload my video about it also, I found some other stuff that doesnt work with this revolver as it was supposed to, but overall... even if you tested the gun in the cold, your results were correct... I was really really hoping you were not... so Marui remains king of the revolvers, for now.

+DarkZarKoX l PvP & MultiGaming Le Colt Single Action de chez Umarex est un pur plaisir. Il tir des billes d'acier et fonctionne au CO2. L'idéal pour le carton et le plinking (tir sur objets) Il coute aux alentours de 150€ en moyenne. Mais si tu as de la chance, tu tomberas peut-être sur une promo. Que ce soit pour le look, la prise en main, le cliquetis de l'armement, la pression de la gachette, le chargement cartouche par cartouche, ce n'est que du bonheur. Il tir raisonnablement bien mais la visée, restée authentique et fidèle à l'original n'est pas au top. Le DW715 de la video est du même ordre de prix. Et en ce moment tu peux trouver le Python 357 de chez Umarex ou Swiss Arms pour moins de 100€. Il a assez bonne presse coté qualités de tir (CO2 + billes d'acier) mais il est un cran en dessous coté esthétique. Dans tous les cas, je te recommande de prendre un rab' de cartouches, 6 c'est vraiment insuffisant.

Personnelement je n'aime pas cette réplique. Le métal a un coter brillant assez. La replique n'est vraiment pas precise et avec seulement 6 coups c'est un gros probleme.

The Mixon Every airsoft gun I ever had wore out relatively quickly. I only ever used them for plinking in my yard, and I took good care of them. So I moved to much more reliable and powerful pellet guns, and then real firearms.

I see, well, they're only toys after all. I recently dropped the idea of getting really expensive shit like daytona, I'd rather just move to real firearms at that point, too. Airsoft games aren't even all that great most of the time because of people.

The Mixon If I want to pretend to shoot people, there's plenty of FPS games to choose from. If I want to shoot things in real life, I'll actually shoot things in real life. In my opinion, the best form of competitive simulated warfare is Nerf. Nobody takes it too seriously, it allows for creativity because you have to build your own gun, and though you can get some decent welts if you get shot from a close distance, it's a lot harder to actually get seriously injured. Sure Airsoft and Paintball are more realistic, but less so when you get in an argument with a 12 year old wearing a My Little Pony hat who you just shot in the face 6 times.

C'est assez étrange, avec les cartouches haute puissance, j'ai un bien meilleur groupement à 10 m (je peux tout mettre sur un carton de 17cm avec peut être un ou deux flyers sur 5 barillets. Par contre, je confirme qu'en single ou double action, les cartons sont quasiment identiques.

lolz "milsim" this is more milsim then somebody running around with an M4 that shoots 1200 rpm and always uses full auto , or even worse some asshat with a p*. real mislim would be loading 30 rds in a mags and using semi auto in most situations

+NeonVars that is the same for real life and real guns too.. this is just an old tradition and style. if revolvers were functional or better, we wouldn't have the common style modern pistols today.

+NikoliZZer There's an annotation at the beginning stating there are (English) subtitles available on the video. There's not much speaking either on the video, or did you perhaps judge the video within five seconds of viewing it?
