Any bets as to how soon they experience great success and they announce a manufacturing facility in the USA? I bet 9 months after certification they will announce it, and have manufacturing in the USA by 2024.

Beautiful aircraft and nice display at AirVenture. The rudder looks like it would have less of a tendency to induce roll. Yes?

Beautiful aircraft. They launched with expectations of selling for $150-200k. The cost of a high-end sedan or sports car. A luxury for sure but attainable. Now they are asking $300-400k. Beyond what most can or want to spend on a two seat aircraft IMO. But it's easy to understand why. Rotax 915is $40k. G3X Suite $40k. That leaves them with $220k to build the airframe, paint and interior. My guess is they have pretty good margins at those prices.

Yes, considering that one of the closest competitor for the training market is Tecnam: 180.000 €. Sure, performance is not the same, but it's good enough, and who cares about performance when you are training?
@kaigongfu
@kaigongfu 2 года назад
Unique and new design, Maybe a good trainer. Would like to try it. The negatives are, what is the next level aircraft for them, does it lead to a larger more capable aircraft ? Black interior is too dang hot in Texas, and the bubble canopy would make it hotter.

@@pilotpeego1820 you’ll probably want to get the canopy unlatched before you hit the water, so that it will sink out of the way. Flipping it on land will be much more dangerous. You probably wont be awake to escape anyways, the fire suppression system might keep you alive until the firemen arrive to get you out. I supposed the axe is a good idea as well.

$250k for a fixed-gear two-seater? I like to see innovation, but at that price I'll stick with my plans to build an RV-10. If two seats suited my mission, I'd be looking at the DarkAero 1, which should be cheaper than this, has retractable gear, and will be much, much faster while getting around the same fuel economy per mile.

It's a 2 seater, flying at 160kt, and burning 15L/h of fuel. Without taking into account the operational costs (maintenance), that it can also fly with normal car gas as well, it's actually very interesting in the long term. Though, it's true, 2 other seats are missing, but that is a long term plan of the company. My flying club (in France) bought 2 of them, the training versions, and costwise, it's very interesting (it's the 250000$ version). It's true though that this aircraft was initially aimed for the European market, where EASA is sometimes stupidly requiring to much constraints on the aircraft (the perfect example is lightbulbs, we are not allowed to change them). Making something very simple to operate for Europe, will definitely be interesting for the rest of the world, including the US. Did not mention the fuel prices as well. A liter of AVGAS before Covid was at about 2.5€, (it's now 3.15€, went up to 3.6€/L, about 14$/Gal, when in the US it's about 6$), so very low demanding fuel aircraft is also a plus in the thinking of the aircraft. All of this will definitely benefit in the US, and the aircraft is already lead free fuel compatible. I approve though, this two seater for now is really more designed for training rather that trip flights. You can check the type of aircraft we are used to fly here in the EU by checking my videos :)

Pilots don't die because they fly old airplanes. That is not a correlation.
@emmanuelgil7606
@emmanuelgil7606 2 года назад
@@airops423 Oh yeah there is a correlation. Check statistics, switch tank during the flight = forget to change the tank, certification about out of spin = spin in low hight in patern, still carburator in 2022 = icing, and lot of problems, impact with the ground, fire immediatly, alluminium means corrosion etc etc. The list is very long. Thx to Volvo, today we don't ask the question when you buy a car "should i take a seatbelt, an airbag or abs", it's include, because we mooved... time to plane to move also ;)

@@emmanuelgil7606 I would be interested to see the statistics you are referencing that conclude such a correlation between airframe age and fatality rate for single engine piston aircraft. I know of more people getting into trouble in newer high performance aircrafts like the Cirrus than a 172 or trying to race a storm on outdated weather information in their iPad. Carbs, mags and dials may be dated but they are incredibly proven and safe.
