This almost reminds me of the sound that I get when I try to get my hardware to null with a plugin. I think that you're building tools to help deliver the different stages of complexity in analog gear, at varying levels. This sounds dope!
Wow, an amazing plugin. I do a lot of tracks with synths, and they sound pretty dull, but this will help a lot. Thank you Chris again, you're awesome!!
@@cholst1 it does, yes, haha, putting this before a compressor like ButterComp2 sounds lovely. Or I'd also put it before HighImpact, this is just the penultimate beefer.
Thanks so much Chris. For a while there I was using a complicated chain of noise gen plugins & distortion to try to add texture to soft synths. This does what those chains did, but much better & without all the tweaking between a bunch of different plugins. Really awesome stuff.
I compared both plugins. The problem (or difference) with your take on this concept is, that you have too much of the original source in it (no matter the dry/wet). Also when I dial in dark and soft at the same time, there is not much (if any) difference to the original sound which makes it basically just a send without fx and it just gets a tiny bit louder. If you could make an additional slider with noise or different noise types it would be there - or make the wet signal more artificial like in the tool that inspired you so that the dark/bright slider is working as intended. For now, unfortunately it´s not ideal. Tested it on a guitar loop and compared in Reaper via delta mode.
This plugin sounds awesome. Also, you can right click on the wet-dry knob in Reaper's FX window there, and delta solo! (difference between wet and dry) - very interesting to hear what this plugin does in that respect too. Thanks Chris!
@@boimesa8190 Yes. You should see an option for Delta when you right click the wet dry knob, and if you don't then perhaps you need to update Reaper. 👍
I downloaded this as a bit of a joke and a curiosity as to what inaudible magic can actually do for a song... Turns out this thing is what I've been looking for since I started music production. What the f*ck. Side note, does the noise in this plugin slowly pan over time? Does it morph over time?
man that was fascinating. i found your channel based on comments from a recent White Sea Studios video, and im gonna take a dive into your plugins :D always love checking out new stuff
I'm back to using mine as the video mic, now with a neewer 'portable vocal booth' around it (just below shot). It's got such a nice tone. Need to do a plugin for making teeny lav mics act, if not LIKE it, then MORE like it :)
This is not even scary, it's outright mortifying. I played around with it and noticed that with the different settings it just feels... different. Not long after I realised that it made ME feel DIFFERENT, as in different emotions for different noise. So I slapped 4 of them on a song and automated. One second you're happy, then almost grossed out, then sitting there with a stankface, all the while not being able to just turn the music off. Dude, I'm not into tinfoil hats and whatnot, but this is some straight CIA bullshit. It's so sickening I almost feel guilty for using it. Will I use it on my tracks tho? You bet. Thanks for the best brainwashing tool I've ever seen, man! Wish I could throw you a buck on patreon for sharing a weapon of mass destruction for free.
Haha! I´m demoing the other plugin in Reaper since 2 days and used the delta mode to get more insight on what´s going on and your results sound very similar. It seems that you saved me the 99€ intro price as I like the concept. If I can make your plugins work in Reaper on Mac I will definitely donate to you. For some reason my older plugins I used from you don´t seem to show the GUI on my system. Nice work!!
Awesome!!! This one is a smash! I don't "like" this plugin... I FRIGGIN LOVE THIS PLUGIN. And, I love you. I wonder how this could relate or be implemented into a non dither type of plugin. I wonder if a streamer might want to slap this baby on their mic channel. How this could be implemented in mastering might be a debate. It reminds me of a particular plugin that I used to use, in mastering (can't recall the name or company at the moment).
@@nikolaudio that wasn't it. I forget what it was, and it was an older plugin. Maybe I'll open up some old mastering projects and post an update, some day.
@@DavidPixleythemuzzlZ ahh fair enough, it was worth a shot I guess haha, but now you’ve really got me curious I’m super interested. Could it be voxengo Shumovick?
Hey Chris , short Question: do you think your Plugins will clip if i go past Zero on a Track?? Im totally aware that Master-Bus Clipping will cause Distortion, and so forth. I used BUSSCOLORS in a project and already Finished it.. One track was like 20 decibels in the red. I hope you can Anwser .
Great! I'm interested in this area of psychoacoustics, but I don't really have the time or mind share to investigate or purchase anything. This will allow me to do some experiments without making any commitments. Frankly, if my productions get to the point where the only thing they need is psychoacoustics, in doing great. Thanks!
Hi Chris, I’m an intensive user of your plugins. I did my roundup a while ago and selected my favorites according to my needs. Lets say I want to try this one; should I download the full pack of the free stuff or is there a download link
You straight up turned snakeoil into something good, wow. As for your point for the subliminal thing, I guess I agree if the other ones also just add noise in the shape of the music (since then you're literally just adding more signal, right?). I thought what you'd described was some extreme high end sounds?
Also I discovered that after some silence on a single track the effect comes in too drastically at the beginning when the signal comes back in. After that in dials in on a constant level. Seems like the detection reacts a little bit too dynamic. Like a compressor with a too long release time and too much treshold (or too high ratio) for a dynamic signal.
