@@artxroyalty Sokka's sexism is very exaggerated in the animation. They're toning it down to make it more realistic. Also he's only sexist in like 4 episodes of the animated show. His character arc is much, much more than his sexism
They only commented they’d be “dialing down” Sokkas sexism, but honestly he wasn’t that sexist and his sort of “sexist” jokes are only like 3 times through the first handful of episodes. Mostly in the kyoshi episode and one joke in the 1st episode. So I’m not entirely sure why people are so stuck on it. I’ve rewatched the first season 4 times in the last month and it wasn’t really that big of factor in his character arc. His character arc is more becoming a man and learning how to fight as a true warrior
Id rather see the stuff that really matters like him being the idea guy, sarcasm, trying to be like his dad a great leader, or him trying to find his place in the group as a nonbender.
im so excited for this series. With the changes, i have an open mind. Im not taking anything seriously with the changes and see how it plays out. as long as the show captures the soul of the show, im good
Thank u for not being overly critical about this show because some people will find anything to nitpick or get mad over the littlest things because of the changes and get mad or find anyway possible way just to hate on this
im actually really concerned only about this one, the music. They said there will be a new composer, not Jeremy Zuckerman that did the music for original show. But his music is just too powerful and I hope a new composer will remain that power.
You don't have to. Well, their main composer is Takeshi Furukawa. And he is famous for a bunch of amazing melodies. Moreover, they are using a live-orchestra instruments and playing it for hours and hours!. Takeshi said that he was honored (no pun intended) to bring something new to a masterpiece show as he explained. Of course, he watched animation, listened to Jeremy Zukerman songs. He made a decision to keep his motives and intentions resembling the original that has been put into music. But he also said that he will make up with new sounds. Which I suppose will not be disturbing. @@Богдановский-к4ш
Kitara did say she wanted to fight in the series in the north pole episodes. She also fights to protect her family, Aang, and the innocent. She doesnt want to be in the healing hut she wants to fight. So It makes sense in the live action that she wants to be a warrior as long as its for the same reason. She still acts like kitara in the trailers so it will be fine
I think the worry comes from the complete bomb of the last live action attempt. The discourse surrounding said “changes” was a bit concerning at first, but nonetheless I’m still VERY excited to watch tomorrow!
Please I advice you not to listen to all those things. Watch it first then you can decide. Also they are not actually removing Sokka's sexism. It will still be there.
I appreciate the feedback! I don’t know if you watched the entire vid but I stated I’m one of those people that prefer to watch before judging. Just wanted to have an open discourse about some of the articles that have been circulating around on my socials. Thanks for tuning in!
Bruh, I was blown away by the original trailer. I've watched that one at least 10-20 times now and this one is great too, probably my 5-6th time watching it lol. Can't wait to see what Netflix has done🔥
@@artxroyalty yeah I get that but these are kids for the most part, ppl are online body shamming children, it’s insane. Kinda makes the fandom look awful.
I got emotional from this trailer lol 🥲 it was so amazing! Don’t worry! Sokka’s sexism will still be there, he’s just not going to be as blatantly obvious where he tells Katara “leave it to a girl to mess things up” lol. I think it’s going to be redirected as him feeling like he has to be masculine and strong to protect his family and village. I think since he grew up in a small bubble (aka Southern Water Tribe lol), he probably doesn’t see woman as being capable warriors… that is, until he meets the Kyoshi Warriors 😆 and Suki will show Sokka that woman can fight too. And I think it will focus more on them being non-benders. Loved your video and energy! Sooo excited for this to come out ☺️
Sokkas sexism arc was in the first few episodes only up until he met suki in the kyoshi island episode. That part of him is small compared to what actually matters like him being the idea guy, or his sarcasm, him trying to be like his dad in becoming a leader, or him trying to find his place being a nonbender of the group. Those are what really matters. Sokka and suki meeting and getting their connection wasnt because of sexism it was because of respect for being a great warrior
The changes have been blown out of proportion and taken out of context. The sexism thing hasn't been confirmed to be removed, in fact another RU-vidr who has an exec connection has confirmed he does have his sexism arc it's just not as hamfisted.
