Government! Please do something to improve the quality of the roads here... Truck drivers and other fellow road users suffer daily... It needs a good rebuild ASAP...
Its seems that mizoram is developed only in adoption of western culture as we saw their youth in social media.. but in reality the roads, the infrastructure are so backward..
Rather than building overlapping super expressways across mainland India where there is already a supersatuation, Govt should ensure these treacherous roads in the Northeastern states become a thing of the past. It's already 23 years into the 21st century, how long till common people + our defence forces continue to deal with such painful travelways?
Central Govt sends crores of Funds to the state govts in North East ,just to build and maintain roads. Who can you complain? Accountability of North Eastern state govts are very low. They hardly ever get criticism since they don't have strong media criticism there. And even if there are some media they focus on Outsider ,Insider BS instead of their infrastructure ,jobs and industry.. Assam which has comparatively strong media and diverse civil society , as a result have better accountability compared to states like Mizoram, Nagaland, Manipur and Arunachal Pradesh, obsessed with Outsider insider fight. Most prosperous and developed cities and states in India and around the world didn't become so by Outsider Insider BS but by inclusion of diverse and merituous people into the society and focus on actual issues which impede standard of living.
"mainland india" what is that? north east is connected to the rest of the country by road, there is no mainland here. Also, how is it oversaturation? India had smaller expressway network 5 years ago then freaking pakistan. China is an example of oversaturation, not india. the much needed expressways are being built. Northern and north eastern frontier regions are also getting attention now. But since we live in india, everything takes 10-15 years time.
Because they are NOT vote banks unlike highly populated States of India. If am not wrong this is national highway 6 .National Highways comes under central government. Both ndm and ng are trumpeting they have built 40,000 kilometres of National Highways (NH) in eight years and more by their bhakts (key board warriors) in social media . Most of tertiary NH are nothing but state highways renamed as NH with some black topping and new sign boards and coat of white lines on either side of road and ofcourse TOLL collection . Conditions of these NH are bad even in mainland states For example nh 52 , 166 .......
All Northeastern state roads should be complete responsibility of Central Govt. Other bigger states in mainland India have sufficient money to build and maintain their own expressways. Ministry of Road Transport, Govt of India should rather focus on these more vulnerable parts of the country. Let's not forget even our army/defence forces use these roads.
Locals dont build road; its the Government's Road connectivity and Highway division that has the responsibility to construct good roads to connect entire India...
National highways (NH) comes under Central government of India . Mere renaming of roads as NH by Modi and gadkari won't work as propagated in social media. Ground reality is different.

Yes me being marathi i also raised skme eyebrows after hearing about aizawl but many including me use ज instead of झ ...otherwise its totally sound different.
Roads in the southern western ghats in Karnataka also looked like this for decades. It is only since very recently that proper the roads are getting built here. By the end of every monsoon season, the roads get badly damaged. This is not a north east specific problem to be frank.
