She gives such incredible insight into John’s directing style. She is one of the only ones I have heard really talk about his directing; and she does it in such a captivating yet simple way.

Baby boy resonated deeply in our community until this day.

When she says she wanted to impress her friend(John Singleton) and that she wanted him to be proud of her. I absolutely love that.

The way they adlib these iconic scenes is pure genius from Singleton. Miss Johnson & the cast were terrific. I'm pretty sure the same techniques were used on 'Poetic Justice' between Lucky and Justice.

I remember the summer of '01 it was my cousin's birthday and we went to see Baby Boy. I was 15 and he was turning 16 and we cracked up the whole movie! Meanwhile my brother and his friend (our ride) decided they didn't wanna see the movie and stayed in the car smoking weed the entire time. We got in the car and weed smoke was all in our lungs. We got a contact on the way home. Good memories!

My favorite line was when she was going on that date and she told Jody to go in the house 🤣😂😂😂😂😂
