I'm so tired of reboots and remaking TV shows and movies, With you those creative minds out there you telling me the best we can do is remaking shows and movies from the past

House party and Friday was the lowest budgets with the greatest exposure pay ever

Even Burger King tasted better back in those times.

House Party was a special moment in time and you can't recreate those moments on command.

That’s a almost 1k a week. And you doing something you love. Hopefully she got another check for choreography cause the dance routine was one of the best scenes besides the rap battle

To know who she is at her core and then to look at her character in that movie let’s you know she’s a damn good actress

House Party is my favorite movie!! There was no reason to keep creating more and no reason for a reboot. Like leave it alone. All of these reboots are ridiculous.

Classics don't need reboots

Just finished watching the original House Party after I had punished myself with the reboot. She AJ was absolutely correct about the direction the franchise went. House Party 2 wasn't bad but didn't have the same magic and the first.

Ill never forget. She played in The Heat of the Night. She played a teen girl who was accused of murdering her baby. Its was very touching. It just goes to show that's if given the right material. These actresses can really bring it. But they rarely get that chance.🤔🤔

$4000 seem fair to me for early 90s. Nobody knew her and lets be real this movie was a huge huge gamble. Nobody knew what it was going to be. No known actors or superstars was in the movie either. It got her known which was more important than the money.

That's a $1,000 a week for a girl that's 25, fresh outta school with bills to pay in the year 1990 when gas was still under a $1.00 in Cali. I'd say she was doing pretty good!

Doing a reboot of House Party is like trying to reboot Cooley High. It can't be done and shouldn't even attempt to be done. The entire mentality of House Party was to party and bullshit. Not make a mockery out of a classic era in time.

My favorite part(not counting all the Robin Harris parts), is when Sydney goes to the jects to pick up Sharane. "Girl get inside, wit'cha big nose...", When Sharane says bye to her fam, and no one even acknowledges her, lol, and the commercial theyre watching on tv for the compilation album, "Lemme borrow it!"......."No my brotha, you gots to buy your own.." Fuck, I havent seen that movie in 20yrs probably, but we used to watch it all the time in jr high and high school. Classic!

It's never so much about the pay in the beginning. It's the long term plan.

I mean ppl gotta understand acting is a job and you can make it out of something or you can’t soo if you get started in your first movie you probably won’t see much money like that at first but you will be kind of famous but money wise it will start to come and come more when you starting getting business deals

Nothing beats the first one. Didn’t care too much for the second one but the third one was funny to me especially the dinner scene and Aunt Lucy. I only know her from House Party and Baby Boy and don’t remember her in the other movies so she can name drop all she wants.

If you dig deep enough you kind find an older version to almost every movie, song, fashion, cars, or just culture in general. Nothing is sacred, everything is for the taking.

She literally lied. She didn’t get paid a lump sum of 4K. If she worked 8 weeks she got paid about 32k based on 4K a week. Her employing a manager and paying taxes is a separate factor. Everybody pays taxes. It’s not a tax that only applies to actors. It’s silly to even bring that up.

I’ve seen the reboot, remake or whatever you want to call it of “House Party”. Even the sequels weren’t as good as the original. This new HP movie is trash and should of gotten it’s own name. Cause call me old cause this just doesn’t have the same feel as the original. The original took 2 regular characters and put them into what we old people had back in the days a house party. Kids nowadays want to bedazzle everything. So yea have a house party in a mansion is their thing. House party was about all the glamour. It’s was more realistic. Of course these youngins are gonna disagree. Cause they won’t understand or care to understand the come up. I wish this House party well but it won’t be a classic to me even after 10yrs.

However, it didn't seem this cut and dry.
