The two power hitting prospects have been tearing up Double and Triple AAA. Mid-inning relievers are a dime a dozen. One of the prospects is Hispanic so he'll fit well into South Florida. D-Backs made a now or never move and mortgaged their future.
Intrigued to find out how this trade works out. Hard to find a spot for De Los Santos on defense but he's having a breakout year for sure this year with the bat. Dbacks are stacked in the outfield over the next few years. Puk didn't have a good year as a starter, but he's been money since they moved him back to the bullpen. the snakes now have one of the best bullpens in MLB. Justin Martinez, Sewald, Ryan Thompson, Ginkel, Mantiply and now Puk.
This could easily be a win-win scenario. DBacks have a stacked outfield for a few years and a few people that can play 3B while Walker is playing 1B (they were having De Los Santos play 3B instead of 1B in case they got rid of Suarez). The DBacks desperately needed bullpen help, so selling off some good prospects for it could be huge.
Dbacks won the trade today. Marlins won the trade tomorrow. In 3 years I think we will find that the Dbacks will regret giving up the power hitting 1st baseman when they can’t afford Christian Walker anymore.
Just to make sure you know that the majority of the first half of the season the dbacks were limited to only 2 of the original starting 5 pitchers. As well as less than half of their starters. The second half of the season will look very different. Nice vid tho hit u with a sub
Ddls is a bum. No defensive value and a bellow average hit tool with tons of ks. Dbacks literally couldnt give him away in the rule 5. To parlay a guy who was handed back to you for nothing into a backed controlable lefty is an absolute fleece. Pintar is a complete mirage. Dbacks sold high on guys who will never ever be better than they are now
