One thing that has attracted me to Buddhism is the absence of guilty if we falter or steer off the path. No one is infallible and we can just realise and understand when we need to concentrate and come back to the path.

Sadhu Sadhu Sadhu!!! Especially appreciated the answer to the question about jhana, not making it the sole motivator for practice, or thinking meditation is only successful if you get jhana...There is beauty in any kind of peace and stillness, even if the mind doesn't enter absorption

Brad Garrison Yes and appreciation and contentment with any peace will lead one to greater peace and ultimately Jhana.

Love listening to Ajahn Khemavaro, the first talk I heard was about impermanence, he seems very thorough and are well presented. This talk so many pertinent components of the Dharma are covered, fabulous, hope he does many more.

Boredom can lead to fantasy world which is fun BUT is not real.When Reality kicks back in that can lead to loneliness anxiety and depression.
@bradgarrison7256
@bradgarrison7256 7 лет назад
When you're bored and start to fantasize (happens to me constantly), you can bring your mind back to the present moment. Loneliness and anxiety are based on thoughts about the past/future etc...that is not actually "reality" although we are conditioned to believe that it is. However, if you are awake and aware (of bodily sensations, breath etc...) of phenomena as it is arising and passing away, you will gradually become less bored, less lonely, and less anxious!

Very beautiful talk, Ajahn, first time I heard Khemavaro and I really enjoyed it, very soothing. Thank you so much for putting this talk together for all of us around the world. Such a simple way of wording the teachings, down to earth yet powerful and peace abiding. Thanks again! (from Argentina).

The Garden of Eden is a state of primal ignorance, leading to eating the fruit from the Tree of the Knowledge of Good & Evil & spiritual death ('dukkha'), as described in the Mahatanhasankhaya Sutta where a child evolves to create suffering by 'favouring' & 'opposing' .Something sounding like Nirvana is at the end of the Bible, which refers to the Tree of Life & states: "‘He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death’ or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away." Revelation 21.4
