I am soooo thankful to see these clips! Lorli Villanueva is my mom and I have been trying to find her movies and commercials for the family to see. She also did some Lorin's commercials, I remember :). THANKS FOR SHARING
These ads turns back the hands of time. It's not the products we were reminiscing, its the time where this ads has been aired, it's the time of our lives we had passed. Ahhh! Life is good today but beautiful and nicer yesterday.
The people way back then looked so adorable unlike today. It is a joy for me to see these videos and ads of yester years. I also wish that AJAX will return and this time they will also have powdered form. I grew up seeing that soap being used in doing our laundry and I'm impressed with its cleaning effect. I want to use that soap once more- in powdered form this time.
Lorli Villanueva's role as Maxima Labandera is still vivid in my mind to this day whenever I pass 11th Ave. (Calle Onse) in Caloocan, naalala ko siya. Watching these ads made me go back to the time I used to watch TV at home a lot...
Even before the Calle Onse advert si Lorlie Villanueva na. Also brings back memories of watching it on our tv. The one with picture tubes and you have to wait for it to heat up before you can watch and where is a problem, isang pupok lang back to normal na. I still have one of those wooden cabinet TVs. Not working though.
buti natago ito kahit videotapes yun mga maste reels ng mga Pinoy Movies simula 30s nawala na halos lahat,, nasira , mas ahead tayo nuon sa Pelikula sa buong ASYA
It's fascinating that, first, the White Knight (from the USA) was used in Filipino commercials; and second, that hand-washing with bar soap was still so prevalent. By the 1950s in the USA, all detergent commercials were for powder detergents used in washing machines.
hebneh - of course. The West has always been ahead of its time when it comes to products and technologies. For example I noticed recently when I visited Phillipines that they were booming with Malls and it has become a big business. Contrast that with the America Today. Many malls are starting to close down. Brick and mortars are feeling the effects of online shopping. Malls were booming in the USA during the 80’s and now it has started to dwindle the last 7 years. Which will eventually happen to Phillipines in the next 20 years.
In the Philippines, Ajax became the popular detergent brand in the market from 1960s until its discontinuation in the year 2000 due to the major popularity of two largest rival detergent brands in the Philippine market today, Surf of Unilever and Tide of Procter and Gamble.
youAREkolokoy Mr. CLEAN IS THE best you Idiot!! Surf products are SHIT!! Mr. CLEAN is the best detergent,,,, ang Moto nila " SA GALING NI KALBO, DAMIT MO AY PALAGING MUKHANG BAGO" Mr. CLEAN is the most popular and the best detergent in the Philippines!
Brings back memories... pag uutusan ako ni mama sa tindahan during 80's ajax ang pina bibili ganun kasikat ung sabon n yan.. pang masa.. nice. Thumbs up po..
DUDE!!!!! you amaze me on WHERE THE HELL DO YOU GET THESE THINGS!!! love your uploads bro, KEEP IT UP!!! did you work in advertising before??? I also collect TV Ads, i am a self-proclaimed tv ad historian (when i have nothing else to do)
This is one of the product of COLGATE PALMOLIVE PHI. INC. I used to work there in the early seventies,I was even assigned there in how to make this ajax bar soap.
Napaka simple talaga ng buhay noon hays. Napakababaw lng tao noon madali makuntento. Ngayon nkakastress n buhay. Parang gusto mo bumalik sa pagkabata. Maayado n tayong materialistic.
Wish someone would post the Rama margarine commercial of the 60s. It was the first time ever that rap was used, preempting all these modern raps by decades. Yes, it was a Tagalog commercial.
Maraming salamat, juniorsky52! Nakakatuwang panoorin ang mga lumang commercial ads. Meron ka ba nung Lux Soap commercials nina Susan Roces at Amalia Fuentes, circa 1967? Please upload naman kung meron ka, thanks.
@juniorsky52 Game on! Upload mo rin yung Colgate ad ni Eric Baines. I'm sure na marami manonood nun. Kung in film man yung mga ads na yun, i hope maipaconvert mo to HD yan. I guess you have ads only from Colgate & Palmolive Philippines
