Mexico has had these issues with the sewage for a long time. I remember having this issues back in the early ‘80’s. The infrastructure needs desperate repair for the influx of people heading there. The sad reality is you can’t even swim in the lake! Why live near the water ? Thanks so much for your videos! I didn’t know it was every other week now! 🙏

You definitely know the areas. You aren’t sitting all the time Sitting in a sedentary position without much movement is not healthy for everyone. . You are living a healthy life. And you walk the walk when others just talk the talk. Nice to see Lori appear in the videos too. I learned and am always learning from your experience and the people that surround you. You have many friends in Ajijic/ Lakeside.

I'm not an expert but I am aware that inadequate sewage treatment causes health problems such as hepatitis, cholera, typhoid, e-coli, etc., not to forget bad smells. You have to consider this when vacationing or moving to a poorer country, anywhere in the world.
@debbiejohnston494
@debbiejohnston494 Год назад
The situation begins with the extremely low property taxes. And, the ‘freedoms’ so many talk about meaning very few regulations. A recipe for disaster. To add to the problem, the lake is actually a volcanic crater, quite shallow and fed by one river which was extremely polluted. As I understand, that river (at the far east end) is being cleaned up. Though, over building is a big contributor.

Hi Jerry thanks for making informative videos both the good and ugly, we enjoy your videos. I should had known your email earlier when I was in Chapala for a 4 day visit. It would had been a big opportunity to see around Ajijic with your help. I did enjoy walking around Chapala by the lake and in the center. I glad I got my temporary residency card that fast.

Missed you both last week. Nice to see you again Really good video and info Honestly talking about the current Lake conditions. This is the channel I’ve trusted for 5 years now. I know I’ll get the honest info. Nice walking video. It’s always nice to see you walking down there or when you’re at the Plaza My friend said you were talking with his daughter and wife last week had a nice time with you 👍. Lori walks quite a bit too. You both live healthy lifestyles. You and your viewers have made consistent and regular contributions to the Mexican communities in need for years. Thanks
@jaliscoguanajuatotravelsan5679
Thanks Jerry. I’ve been watching the channel for years I’m up in Michigan and was having a conversation with a nurse who has parents in another area in Mexico but her and her husband are going look at Guadalajara in a year when they retire. She saw my cap from Mexico and asked me questions. I told her of your channel. She jotted down the info and I also recommend she call you when the time is right She was happy to get the info. I told her you and Lori have a combined experience of 30 years living in Mexico. You give great updates and you both have helped the Mexican communities regularly and consistently throughout the years. Giving generously. 👍🇲🇽

@jaliscoguanajuatotravelsan5679
Hi again. Your video was so nice I watched it twice. You are right ! I’ve never known you to sugarcoat things And you substantiate what you say. Some other social media channels don’t Your channel is excellent, you and Lori have 30 years of combined experience. You don’t sugarcoat the gridlock either , but you are fair , positive and honest. Also by you and Lori are both active and having “ feet on the ground “ definitely TrueType know all the towns in Lakeside and beyond, not what you see in other RU-vidr’s videos. You have your own personal experience. Thanks for for giving regularly and consistently to the Mexican communities in need and others with the proceeds of Lori’s book Who better to drive people showing the communities in Lakeside? I recommend people watch your videos and call you Your substantiation of things you say are forthright , transparent, and full of integrity. I ve been viewing your channel for years and listening well. Thanks for all your videos For the above reasons I recommend you and Lori as “ the go to people “ for those thinking of relocating or visiting Mexico and the Lakeside area. Also by owning a home and renovating it your additional hands on experience is helpful also. Thanks. Also your video on lowering exchange rates about lowering exchange rates 2 months ago and cost of living associated with it is the first I’ve seen on RU-vid. It’s important for a relocation person to be straightforward and NOT cleverly suppressIng that information or or skirting around it Thanks for bringing it up and not suppressing it. Important for people to know. Many people will adjusting their budgets as needed.

Depressing. It's possibly a disincentive to moving to Chapala, along with other disincentives to make the move to Mexico, like droughts and water shortages, as Jerry adds, the inability of the infrastructure to handle the growth, and of course, the gangs and cartels that effectively control significant parts of Mexico.😢😢

@@MalibuMerle At costs far higher than Mexico.....but the situation in Mexico does sound practically impossible to solve. I guess expats don't really care about contributing to a country or living in a country that is directly harming the US with no hope of resolution.(Sigh) It's bad enough wanting to escape one corrupt and harmful system....but I guess it's difficult when you have lived your whole life in the US.

@dovygoodguy. I know how you feel, and I felt the same, until I came here myself. I understand the seriousness of the situation, however, I moved here from Orlando. Our ac bill would choke a horse! And Florida has seen it’s share of droughts. As has California. I haven’t lived in the Chapala area long, and we are holding our breath for rainy season 😂 but there are no water shortages I’ve experienced. And there is NO CARTEL activity anywhere near here!!!! It’s like telling someone not to move anywhere in the Midwest cause St. Louise is one of the murder capitals of the country, along with south Chicago! (BTW, Orlando is legendary for its mass shootings!). Obviously, every place has its challenges. But the weather is beyond compare, the scenery is spectacular, and the people are gracious, warm and welcoming!
@dovygoodguy1296

@@debbiejohnston494 I think it's a bit more significant because the cartels wield a tremendous amount of political and financial power in significant parts of Mexico as a state within a state.
