There’s a wierd obsession we have in our culture to fixate so much on this.

Not having a father does not guarantee you anything good or bad, just more than likely to. Secondly, it does affect them the same. Men and women are DIFFERENT but the same “negative effects” but it ends up with different results.

Yeah. I didnt have my mom or my dad so I can see how not having a mother will affect me, a girl, differently than it would affect a boy. However, due to not having either, I give a lot of respect to older men AND women because I don't know how they will react to me. In a way, I am more fearful of them because I want to impress them and I want them to like me the same way I wanted to have a mom and dad that was loving and proud of me when I was a little girl. You could become extreme attached or extremely detached. For me it was the latter. I dont understand how their absence would cause me to disrespect men or women altogether. Its the complete opposite for me. I do feel that not having parental figures that you bond with is very detrimental. You can find healthy positive father/mother fiigures outside of the household like an uncle or a teacher but if you dont have one or either of them, you might not learn healthy ways to bond with other people as an adult (not just in romantic relationships)

No Columbus short is rite cuz in a single mother household while a woman may not learn how to treat a man a man will ALWAYS learn how to treat a woman

My message to his immediate response, which was defensive. Nothing wrong with his opinion, as this is can be true the problem is other women do not get the same backlash as other races of women which is the point. I use blame because regardless, no one can control where or how they are raised per Dr. Umar’s point, once your an adult you do have the obligation to change especially if it’s a negative learned behavior which goes for both women and men, not only women. The point is take accountability and self-reflect, blaming the woman isn’t a solution especially when men aren’t doing the work to course correct. Just to add, I’m not talking about ALL.
