Thank you! Is it a breakdown of the technical side of it, or putting the music together that would be useful?

@@MaxipokMusic I could be really pedantic and say one feeds into the other 😛 but I’d rather the technical side personally as I feel teaching musical elements may be less productive for my own personal work. That said, I’d love to see both. Is that really unclear enough for you? 😂 technical definitely though. Love what you’re doing here and I know it’s a lot of assigning different elements / channels on the crossfader, mapping to the LP and so on but it’s all so interesting.

@@ikarugamoo Yep I know exactly what you mean, and they definitely do feed into each other. Once you know a process is set up it can lead you in different directions, I think that’s particularly true on the Force. Cool, that’s a good idea for a video, thank you!

Thank you! The vocal is a copy of sample that I am playing on the Launchpad, but to get the stutter I chopped it into 64 tiny slices and turned that into a drum kit. Then spent some time figuring out which pads sounded good and recorded the patterns with the Arp switched on. They are all panned in different ways so it sounds like it’s bouncing around a bit.

Thank you! I do all the track mixing in Force, and record the main outputs into Ableton via a Behringer UMC interface. Then I stick Gullfoss on the recording, which is an active unmasking EQ. It has two controls - recover and tame - usually go for about 20% of each but it’s something you just tweak by ear. Then run the track through Master Assistant in Ozone, and generally add the vintage tape and exciter modules, again just giving them both a tweak by ear, but the ‘warm up’ and ‘transistor smoothing’ presets respectively always seems to be good starting points for the sort of sound I’m going for… Edit- forgot to mention, I then sync the wav file with the video in Premiere Pro!

Thanks! Programmed, it’s a couple of break loops that I time-stretched to tempo and then chopped up into slices and made kits from them. Tend to make the slices a bit longer than single hits so the little ghost notes and rolls come through more naturally.
