Im considering getting a Force, so this is interesting. I’ve never noticed any latency with my Live 2. Maybe because I’m using the drums on the Akai? But no noticeable latency in the audio from the synths into the MPC
Hey man, I'd love to use this technique but I've already got a sidechaining effect on the fx track that only routes certain tracks to it, is there a way where i can use this and on the fly switch back to the regular fx track routing for my sidechain?
I just bought the akai force and received it yesterday. You have prevented that frustrated "I want to give up" feeling altogether, and for that you deserve money. Thank you!
Such a great technique. As a Tracker user as well this speaks to me as trackers thru the ages have made this easy. And this is so much easier than automation in DAWs where to get per step is a matter of a lot of zooming in & out and drawing small chunks of data in right at the start and end of your midi data or samples. It’s rare Akai get something so right but they have here. And not turning off the per step automation by accident (shown here by the next step along with no levels turned up) sometimes brings some happy accidents. Nice work Andy 👍🏼
I’ve had both and sold the Maschine, Force is more adaptable and capable. Plus it has been vastly and consistently improved through firmware updates and the Maschine hasn’t. The Force evolved to offer an incredibly unique and powerful workflow. Maschine users are all saying the same thing, “where’s the updates?”
Is there a way to use the crossfader like the octatrack one with macros. I read in the manual you can switch between 16 crossfader scenes by pressing and holding Assign A and then pressing Assign B to page through. Anyone know if this can this be done while playing? Could be a cool way to perform.
One question if you don't mind, in this setup which is the master clock? Ableton or Akai Force. I am trying to avoid Ableton (PC) being the master clock.
What a versatile instrument the 707 is! I use mine as a live synth (with 49 key controller), my friend uses his as a DJ and my other friend uses his for movie soundtrack design.
Hmm, Grooveboxes, MPC live, Force, Yammy RS7000, SP404mk2 (Which i do now class as more of a standalone groovebox, due to its 4.04 update; I mean, you dont even need sounds its got a tone gen now! ;-D
I know this video is a year old, but this totally changed how I use my device. I record all my songs DAWless live, so this is an absolute game changer. The "Func + no" was fine, but to be able to manipulate the filter like this is huge.
I like the track. I have a Force and SSL Big Six. Is it possible to hold down a delete key and a pad to erase a note on Maschine? I like doing this on The Force and some older Roland and Boss sequencers. I don't think new Roland boxes feature this option or are class compliant. Poor Roland! I would have bought their stuff too.
Hello, I'm looking for a hybrid mixing console for studio and live. I use Ableton and several synths. In Ableton I have effect VSTs and virtual instruments. I would like to be able to use all of this for recording and for live performances. I think I need a console that can do all of this at the same time: Manage a Line/instrument/mic track, routed in an Ableton track, be able to add effect VSTs to the Ableton track (in parallel or not), then output on the monitors with the complete processing Manage Ableton tracks with virtual synths + effects (in parallel or not) Using console faders to control Ableton I feel like Tascam does all of this, but I can't find a specific explanation for it. Do you know how to answer that for me? Thanks😊
If you can’t figure it out after watching this example of lowest common denominator instruction, I don’t think Force, or indeed making music, is for you.
Can the Korg wavestate be used as a type of controller to trigger sounds from an MPC type device. An MPC 1 has no keyboard, but the wavestate does. Can it be used in this way?
