I did a similar project using my Erica Synth db-01 instead of Roland S-1. I put db-01 audio out into an audio input in my Force. And it is easy to sample directly into an audio clip in the audio track. But I would also record each drum and plugin track separately as I change them live. I did not find any solution with audio tracks (I hoped I could put each drums, plugin... track as input of one the 7 other audio tracks. But I did not find how to parameter a track as input of an audio track. Probably not possible ? Do you advise me to use Iconnectivity Audio4C (I bought it 2 years ago but I had quality problems - noise/breath in my speakers) ?
Yep, the S-1 is just playing the arp. The weird vocal sound is an OP-4X preset, one of those ones that sounds rubbish on its own but someone works in the mix. Thanks, thought it was time for rebrand! 🙂
Hello wizard, how are you, do you know how to configure the program change between force and aira s1, by clip, yes I can do it with my jx-08 but not with this one, I mean, scene 1 clip midi pg ch 1, scene 2 midi pg ch 2
I haven’t tried that with the S1 but if it’s anything like the TR6S, banks 1-4 and their patterns equate to PC 0-63 so you would need to send those PC messages on the control channel. As I say, haven’t tried it but I did look at the midi implementation chart before I bought it to check it could RX PC messages. Might just be a case of switching it on and setting the control channel in its settings.
I've been thinking about getting the S-1 for a few weeks now - can it receive midi on multiple channels? I know it's 4 voice polyphony (or maybe paraphony) but it would be amazing if it could be used as four monophonic voices on 4 midi channels (like the Casio CZ-101 / CZ1000 could).
Unfortunately not, that would be very cool. You need the MC-101 for that which is obviously a lot more expensive. They should make a version of the 101 that doesn’t have the sampler / drum machine element and sell it a bit cheaper as a 4 channel audio module. I reckon they’d sell a bunch of those to the Force / MPC / Maschine crowd.
@@MaxipokMusic thanks - I'm just trying to limit the amount of outboard hardware I'm using - I've got two TD-3's and a Volca Bass. I think the S1-Tweak and the Modded Out TD-3 may become my default set up - I'm pretty sure the S1 will be able to do a lot, tonally, of what a 303 can do with the added benefit that it's got a broader tonal range.
@@Peacefrog226 If you do pick one up, I’ve found this was worth the few quid it cost - it’s a 3rd party editor app that also comes with a bunch of sounds, some of which are pretty good: roland-s-1-editor-soundbank.jimdofree.com
