Akai LPK25 vs Korg Nanokey2 - My Favorite Mini Midi Keyboard 

I love my Korg Nano Key, same one.. I have an 88 weighted key Roland, 76 key Roland Fantom, 61 key Fantom, 61 key M-audio, two 49 key midi controllers, I compose a lot of piano and full orchestra type stuff but THIS little Nano is my favorite one because I have a laptop that has A whole ton of my best software and I can run Cubase 13 and all of my spitfire VSTs while I am just sitting in the car somewhere, or just outside in the lounge chair… I am used to playing full range with both hands but I can very easily compose with this sweetie when I need to, and I use it more often than my 88 key.

I love the form factor of the Korg, but I think as a pianist the key layout would just throw me off way too much.

Finally a good review of the Nanokey

I have Korg Manokey2 and Nanopad2. Unified with DAW, the Nanokey and the Nanopad, with 16 pads and an XY pad, allow to create bass / elec guitar sliding and slapping techniques, cause of guitar/bass fret-similar key buttons of Nanokey. And they can be converted to finger drum with 41 pads (including the XY pad, which brings it to 42 pads totally). The korg finger drum set, I set above, offers a wider range of articulation than even high-end electronic drum sets or expensive percussion pads. Similar to the Yamaha FGDP50 finger drum, it allows real-time cymbal choking and captures the nuanced texture of open hi-hat swaying-all in real time. Korg’s versatility in offering multiple functions makes it an excellent choice for MIDI controllers, satisfying both functionality and cost-effectiveness.

I just got it since I have the cord karma and don’t have it next to me, I feel that I wanted a midi keyboard, that I could lay on my table just to create an idea or two, and this worked out amazing I’m glad that you compared it to the Akai because I almost bought that one that you’re referring to but I’m glad that the one that we got it doesn’t slide

Oh, NanoKey2 is pressure sensitive?! I have dabbling with nanopad2 but it’s not that good for drumming and had to add tape inside in order to not have to use so much force but nanopad is also not sturdy enough for drumming IMO so I plan to get some AKAI mini MPC for that in the future. Adding soft gum feet and placing it on a large soft mouse pad or likewise is good. My table is vibrating like hell. Nice angle USB cord btw! Will get that too! Nanokey1 wasn’t pressure sensitive and I gave it away to a friend but now I miss it. In Logic I can use the built in piano keyboard but nanokey is better and make your keyboard last longer.

thanks for the review, i have arturia minilab and akai mpk mini - both of them are too big for travelling, so looking for something really small

Iv got the lpk and it's useless for hardware iv not been able to power it from any of my hardware it's stupid it's only got usb and nothing else iv used it with cake walk but I don't make music with daws on hardware with a tascam multitrack so I'm gonna get a keystep iv seen there is ways to connect the lpk to hardware but iv not got the right adapters

Between the korg and the Arthuria microlab which one would you recommend?

Yo does the nanokey2 work on fl studio

my DAW can't seem to detect my Nanokey2. It's connected to my laptop and appears on the connected devices but it does not appear in any DAW I use. Is it software problems? Anyone experienced this before?
