THE METRONOME HACK:
I get asked this a lot: No, you cannot send the metronome out the headphone output on the MPC One, however, you could create an audible click track using one of the CV outputs by automating a LOW voltage level every beat - and just route that as audio to your headphones. Get cheap headphones with level control in case you send it too much voltage by accident and you ruin them... be careful with your ears on this too and please don't hold me responsible if you damage either ears or gear...

Finally review which gives an idea how much of potential this akai os has regarding style I'm into which is this glitchy / idm type stuff. Automation record, track mutes automation, sample edit options look very promising. Cannot wait until it's available in EU. Kind of worried about what happens with my digitakt, machinedrum, mpc1000 then... Totally agree with your q-link suggestions. Hope they add macro knob functionality and metronome into headphones feature.

How does Loopop not have millions of subs 🤔 Seriously, there's no hype, no bs, just giving you everything you need and want to see from a product without any "hey guy's raid shadow legend's, VPN, manscape" cheesy over animated fake personality.
@sssncodesstuff3364

well you cannot compare it to ppl that do content about games and other stuff, there is much less audience for synths, loopop is actually one of the biggest synth channels or do you know about synth related channel that has milions of subs? Look mum no computer has half a mill and he does content that is somewhat entertaining for people out of synth world, Loopop vids are appealing only to people who are into synths / production etc.

One of the best review videos I’ve seen on RU-vid - excellent work. Love the structured approach and times down the side. The unit itself looks great, amazing power and functionality in a fairly compact unit. I prefer the look of this over the higher range models - particularly the hard buttons like the original mpcs. Would be interested to see how it works with network and splice? Keep up the good work!

I just purchased the MPC Studio one last Friday and I've been waiting for a couple of years to get it...finances weren't quite available for me, but now I have it and I'm ready to jump in, learn create and produce. Love the touch screen and the granular control for sensitivity and built-in sounds...finally no more loading sounds and waiting forever and a day to get what you want. Great walkthrough!!! I've owned the roland mc 909 and korg emx 1 so the akai mpc one was virgin territory, being I never used any kind of software. Your break down really helped me jumped into this. I know the items I have owned in the past are considered "groove boxes", the mpc one has alot higher learning curve. That said, this video tremendously helped me get going. Thank you so much

I love my MPC One. It is exactly what I wanted. I love the size and the layout of the pads and buttons. Yet the MPC X might be in the future for me, but the MPC One does everything. I have loaded new expansion packs, sampled with it and made music. It is really a great instrument. After watching this video again, I am realizing what a beast this is. There are so many options. Any real instrument has limitations. So if you are looking for limitations you will find some. But if you are looking for an instrument with a great workflow and that really does so much, the MPC One is very awesome.

Superb review, having bought the Live 2 second hand and watching a load of well known MPC channels, I learned a lot just from this one great review that's over 2 years old ! Didn't know you could automate pad mutes and lots of other stuff - excellent ! The MPC is a dream come true for me having had an old Yamaha A3000 - it was great, but loading and saving samples was painfully slow and unreliable, it's great to get back to sampling with the new generation of samplers, the sky is the limit, I must say hat's off to Akai, this thing rocks ! In regard to the Looper: You actually can add loops live. I have been doing this for awhile now with fairly smooth results using the MPC Live (I assume it is the same for the MPC One, as from what I understand it basically uses the same firmware. Process: Play your sequence. It will loop. Go to the looper and record your new loop(s). In my case I have been jamming out guitar parts. Once you have your new loop click the touchscreen "Export". Choose the Program and Pad you want to assign the loop to. Click the "Keep" button. I usually then stop the loop from playing but keep the sequence going only after I double it up from the midi notes screen as I will continue to describe now... I then navigate to the Main screen, make sure I have the correct Drum instrument in context, go to the midi notes screen and play the new loop pad, adding it to my looping sequence. All while the music plays on. I then return to looper and repeat the process. It is a fantastic workflow.
@niklassilen4313
@niklassilen4313 4 года назад
How on earth do you call that a "fantastic workflow"? You literally just went through a HUGE amount of steps. There are MUCH better ways to make a proper live looping workflow.. AKAI is totally clueless when it comes to this.

Thanks for this brilliantly succinct and engaging round-up. auto sample sold me, was actually considering a MC707 which is lightyears away concering sampling power + it's unusable mini screen.

It's not review, it's pure knowledge. As always. Best YT channel for music gear review without annoying video editing and fx.

If this thing's anything like the MPC Live and X, you should ALWAYS store your projects on removable storage, never on the built in storage. Just like a cellphone, these things can start to work all weird if their internal storage gets full. Thanks for another great video, Loopop.

Incredibly useful review. I was unsure, but I'll get a One after watching this video.

Question: I was a little too hasty plugging the SD-card into the One without thinking properly about folder structuring and keeping things neatly organized. Now 10 tracks deep I'm wondering; each project creates a project file and then a folder with all the samples (etc) you've used within that project. After saving a project, will it stream the samples from that folder always or will it stream the original files from the original source I got them from on the SD-card? I want to clean up that SD-card, rename folders etc but I'm worried I'll mess up all my projects if I do.

The autosampler function looks amazing! I was wondering though: I read that you can import your projects from the MPC to Ableton, does anyone know what file format the multisamples are stored as? Cheers

There’s a plug in included that you can load up in ableton to make the workflow between using the mpc standalone or in the daw pretty much seamless.

And a BIG YES PLEASE from me for the sound design video...On the brink of getting one of these (if it's available here in the UK) but would really appreciate a tutorial on sound design features. I have watched this video three times now and you have convinced me that this is the way to go, so any further help/inspiration would be most welcome. As ever an amazing job! Thank you.
