My man! You are a scholar and a gentleman! I finally figured out how to Sample effectively and I'm working on some old Dramatics samples, and I can't quite figure out time stretching. Your videos have been a HUGE educational tool for me and this came right on time. Thank you so much!!
That’s because most high end computers have more than just 2 gig of ram and 1 ghz processor. So, it can calculate points in real time faster without over heating.
@@AveMcree right and you can't upgrade the RAM "because you'll never need to". It sucks for people like me who record instruments with microphones and were hoping for a DAWless way to make strange sounds using manipulation like stretching and pitch shifting on a 2020 piece of technology. But i can see how it's not going to affect most people who use it to make beats (AKAI's main market).
Instead of bouncing the sample… another way you can time stretch is in the warp sample menu at the very top there’s an Edit Zones menu (next to the boxed down arrow). If you choose “ALL” you will be able to edit all your slices at once. Tap Warp and ensure your BPM is correct. That would also do the trick.
Bro thank you so much. I've been watching all of your videos getting into this only MPC Production. Thinking about buying the MPC Bible, but doing plenty research first. Thanks
The MPC Bible is definitely a great resource for a lot of hidden features the new MPC’s have, and even obvious ones with walkthroughs on what the terms mean and how to use them, but it doesn’t touch on everything. I use both that, and RU-vid for whatever I need help on.
I need to finally get this shit down! I'm so sick of getting inspired off a sample I want to chop up, all for me to chop up what seems like PERFECT slices to then try and lay it out in my project and it just doesn't fit the grid perfectly no matter what I do! Now, this is not the case with many samples. I often times can get the sample to loop perfectly without any issue, but there's so many that just feel impossible to line up with the grid of my projects! I have never bothered learning about time stretching or warping on my MPC X so hopefully this video will finally solve all the damn headaches and all the time I've wasted trashing projects! *FINGERS CROSSED* EDIT I often times will be able to get the first 4 bars of a sample to line up perfectly, but the next slice will be slightly off and I have no idea how to fix it!
@@khari3133 Yea, the warp is basically unusable. It's good for a preview to figure how you want it set, but time-stretch is the go-to. It's not all that bad.
I have a question love your content by the way but for example say I load in a expansion with drum samples and it also has synth pads or chord samples that part of the pre-made song how do I take that one chord sample on the pad and play it on my keys up the keyboard without the pitch speeding up like chipmunks but stays in key with maschine it is easy I can't figure it out with akai key61 thanks in advance
I use unchopped samples and change the number of beats then match it to the sequencer , that's easy ,makes it rotate perfectly with in the bars, but if I change the tempo the sample gets off, how do I time stretch that type of sample?
Whats good bro....thanks for all your videos.....I've been looking for a video that explains how to get your samples to match any bpm you want....ex. if I grab a sample and needed it to a certain bpm without changing the sound or pitch of the sample....do you have a video....I have the live 2....thanks in advance
Thank you my brother that was a great video I just have one question if you want to make grimy boom-bap Beats from the 90s what are the three plugins that you would use can you point me in a Direction
Waves Factory Cassette (cassette tape emulation) Native Instruments Battery (mpc on steroids) PSP Nitro (for multi fx, really comparable to a bunch of boxes you'd have in the 90s) Should sound sick as fuck.
How can you manually tap out the bpm of a sample? You used to press “detect” in the sample edit page, and then you had the option to tap out the tempo, but the detect feature isn’t there anymore. So, how can you manually tap out the tempo of a sample now?
Say I have two samples that are both 4 bars in length. Say one sample is exactly 5 seconds long and fits my projects BPM perfectly when looped. But the other 4 bar sample is either slightly longer, or slightly shorter, and because of this, it doesn't line up properly with the grid and throws off the overall feel of the beat. The first 4 bar sample the claps are perfectly on time, because again.. it lines up perfectly with my projects BPM, but the 2nd sample is slightly off, so on the second 4 bar sample the claps just DONT LINE UP the way I need them too! How the hell do we easily remedy this? That's my damn issue and I've owned this MPC X for way too long to not understand how to fix this yet! If anyone can help me out I'll throw you $50 cash app like RIGHT NOW!
Hi sir I have akai 2000xl and mpd 26 controllers Its perfect velocity pad Now i took mpc live its good but compared to mpd 26 ets velocity and threshold are not good because when i play on triggers mpclive takes only above 30-127 velocity values am a live orchestra player iwant play hihates snare rolls ets..with very low dynamic range its not coming in mpclive i tryd to set in mpc live preference mode but not coming wt i want in recording we can adjust velocity values but when we play on live stage its necessary to play with velocity levels right .... So can u plsss help me how to set velocity wt a i want in mpclive in standalone mode
OMFG is that Super Mario Bros and Duck Hunt or just Super Mario Bros??? Super Mario Bros 3 is my all time favorite NES game. Contra is another one. Double Dribble is another one. Gauntlet is another one. Way too many to name.
