I accidentally broke the USB connector on the AKAI MPK mini(Professional). It wasn't so easy, but I did fix it without giving up. Finally, I can practice making music.
What a service you are providing here. These USB B ports on these are breaking all the time. You are helping me get 'unstuck' . My pads were torn up-your close up pictures helped me retrace the connections to the USB on my MPK mini. Now for some microsurgery.
Bro, just want to say thank you so much for your video. If not I may have broke my rotary knob trying to remove it by pulling or twisting.... Who knew there was a cap on top with the hidden screw inside 😅 Bless you 🙌
@@manjkhan5826 hi, have a problem with one key, open and clean and work, after one week not working, think maybe rubber line to slide and not connect or wet air in Vietnam. Maybe you can help, because every week I must open keys and clean it for work
The usb port on the unit I was borrowing got damaged after hurrying to get gear off the stage at a show (I left the USB cable plugged in and threw it in my bag 😪) glad I will be able to fix it, thanks for the breakdown and repair!
Nice, Saves some time for a tear down and have a look at the PCB layout, components, ISP/jtag header and IC ID and what not. Don't fight with the USB connector bro. 😂
Does anyone know where to go for parts for the joystick? Dropped my mpk the other week and after that when moving the joystick to the right it gets stuck and doesnt spring back to the middle like it used to.
Hey am I at the part where I’m removing the old solder, but it isn’t working. The iron melts normal solder but really isn’t getting anywhere with the solder holding the USB connector in place. Any tips anyone thank you in advance
All the lights on my Akai mini is all on at the same time when I plugged it on my laptop any idea of what I can do to fix it ...... And my FL studio is not detecting the Akai mini also....
I think you said no lights at the moment when you plugged it, It means the connector has been damaged, you need to open. If it is you can follow my work
Hi I didn't want to remove it at 8:05, it was damaged and automatically removed. You don't need to remove it when you replace USB port but becarefull unexpected damage by your hand and tools. You want to have USB part number or the element part number?
manjentertainment.blogspot.com/2020/02/akai-mpk-mini-board-picture.html you can see the picture on top and element as below. www.google.com/search?q=smd+resistor&source=lmns&bih=729&biw=1241&hl=ko&ved=2ahUKEwjKl4uz6MPnAhVdw2EKHRTfDToQ_AUoAHoECAEQAA
Aha, the joystick had a screw, that little fukka did my head in ...so I just left it connected when I pulled my MPK apart after water damage...THANKS HEAPS.ps always add some fesh solder to the pad that you want to desolder and add a little Flux.
I dropped my device, so I opened it, and I returned it to the USB terminal, and I saw one of the legs of the chip written D1 was broken, so could I get a link to that part?

Hello I’ve been having a really hard time finding a part and as a last resort I decided to ask in here, does anybody know what the little clasp is called that was pushed in at 11:26? I unfortunately broke mine and was wondering if there is a replacement or if I’m screwed, thanks 🙏🏼

Hello. The pads of my akai do not work. I followed your video to take it apart, cleaned it up and nothing happens. When pressed they do not receive any signal. (I tried to do it like you, only from the plate and neither) Do you know if you have a solution, friend? D: Greetings
Hey there! I have the Akai MPK Mini rn here and a part is missing. D1 right behind the USB connector. I couldnt find anything in the internet about that part. Can you help me with that?
Hi AM, If i were you, i would try to check that all directions are ok or not. 1.when all is not ok, it must be broken. need to be replaced(i checked the knob and small PCB but i did not see, i can think of another second hand or useless one then can be replaced) 2.when some of them are ok, need to open and clean the small part of contact.
