With no end in sight, the residents of Akbar Nagar approached the Supreme Court as the last resort to seek relief, but the SC has upheld the Allahabad High Court's decision to proceed with the demolitions. An option to buy flats under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana has been offered, but many see this as an unfair demand.
