I own the original black C3000 (1993-99) and I have no plans on selling it, and would buy another in a heartbeat! Do I own superior mics? Yes, but the C3000 can do things no other mic can. It's been used on many successful albums by many artists.
$60-80 is an absolute steal. The word is out and I bought mine for $100-120, and I bought three of them. Producers call these a secret weapon that some prefer over their $1000 AKG C414 microphones.
Wow! This mic has some awesome crisp trebles, very clear mids and a subtle bass. It sounds to be built for vocals. It gives the impression to already be equalized, because of how clear it sounds. And the processing you added, just makes it even more perfect. Thanks for sharing this review
@@ObscureMics was checking out the AKG Pro P220. Some review said its rly bad for vocals. I dont know much about mics so i relay on reviews. I guess i go better with the C3000 for vocals after seeing this?!
Basically anything is better than a p120, & i say this as someone who loves AKG and owns most of the other Perception mics. I hope your reviews have improved cos there was not really any testing in there. Couple of specials to look at atm - the Presonus io44 for $80, the BeyerDynamic M90 X for $150, The 512 Skylight for $50 (tho it wouldnt make much of a review as its discontinued)
I’ve done the skylight. Liked it if I remember correctly. As to if my reviews have improved….you can be the judge. I do things pretty casually and that’s just what I do
I have one of the originals of that. There were two c3000's iirc, and then the c3000b line (the silver ones). Those plastic cases were issued with several mics AKG made in the 90s. They could be stacked thanks to the recessed slots and the feet.
@@ObscureMics The black one you have is the original. They then did a silver/champagne version, but the gubbins were the same. This was then changed for a different electret condenser circuit which was the first B, there have been two black versions of the B since, but the gubbins are the same as the silver B. They're all great mics but the B sounds very slightly different/has a different frequency curve Fantastic as drum overheads, percussion mics for anything where a stick might smack it.
Only thing that annoys me about my C3000 i that it cost me £300 circa 2000 and it is now less than half the price and includes a shock mount where mine didn't. BTW, yes, mine is still going strong.
Hey where did you get the table top mic stand? I have a standing mic stand from when I was doing music, but the winds have changed and I'm a web dev, looking to do podcasting. I have this mic and haven't used much but want to give it another shot. Thanks!
I’d crown it ! Sounds fantastic in my cans. Eargasmic for sure. Got mine for 75$ and was lucky to get it at that. With your help of course. What is the processing unit you’re running? I want to look into that too. I run my mics into a tube preamp, parametric eq, oral exciter , off to the compressor and gates to the slight Hall effects unit. BUT a good mic is the heart of the audio. Yeah I can eq a 20$ mic but all that crap can’t tame a tin can mic. Lol again , using the ears. Thanks dude
Not sure, maybe you said it in the video or not, maybe I skipped that part, but did you have an eq or post eq and what equipment did you run it through? Thanks NVM, found it at 7:00. I am planning on getting something like komplete audio 1 and this mic for streaming and making videos. Hopefully komplete audio has enough power to get these to run loud.
@@ObscureMics if you are planning to do it, you should talk about the current akg c 3000 that they are selling, since that one is different from the original and also it's a copy of the b model, only difference is the manufacturing country and the colors
