This is a completely different microphone to the original C3000 - that was a true condenser with dual diaphragms whereas this is an electret with a single diaphragm. I have an original, which is black with switchable polar patterns and it's a far better microphone than the current one.
Thanks for that info, I have one of the originals and it's nice to feel good about it, lol! I actually did a "hack" I found online, where you cut away the sort of brass colored wire mesh inner protective cage. It was purported that the mod would remove or attenuate a sort of honkish quality to the mids. I can't say for sure because my ears are tin, but I think it may actually have worked. Interestingly, there is a lot of hating on this mic on the interwebs
this is c3000B if I'm not wrong , c3000 are more expensive i v been using c3000 for about 7 years and I'm happy with it . it has some of c414 characteristics but single pattern off course .
Original c3000 was discontinued then they released the c3000b. Then they discontinued that and released the “c3000” in 2009 and 2012 BUT even tho it’s called the c3000 these days it’s the specs of the c3000b. They fucked up the naming hardcore but the current mode is in fact called a “c3000” even tho you’re right it’s identical to the c3000b
The AKG C3000 MADE IN AUSTRIA, was a switchable cardoid and hypercardiod mike, in 1993. Not the one RU-vid presenting here(C3000B, now C3000). Today just missusining the name by Samsung. The rest of the confusing history read under RED CABIN ACOUSTICS in RU-vid.
i HATE when ppl dont give a speech or vocal sample ist like buying an album without vocals! why ppl still do that? showin of the mic: "oh look how nice" - "look what a nice shockmount" I KNKOW WHAT A SHOCKMOUNT DOES DAMMIT sorry for reging but things like this are extremly useless/incomplete! i know that it depends on the voice for all mics mut a little sample is just nothing that big?! isnt it? i mean common
Sound is not good at all for guitar. I don't know other sound sources. In compare to Audio Technica Stage Vocal AT4100, I will say, this sound is shit. I have AKG C3000B which sound better than this C3000.
Ehh there really isn’t that much difference…. It’s not great on electric guitar but it’s nice on acoustic, vocals are mediocre - would even take a 57 over this for vox lol
