AKG P420 VS Neumann U87AI

Neumann beats the AKG P420 I can tell from a mile wish is the Neumann and wish is the AKG but for the price point !! The AKG sound magnificent specially when you match it against the great U87

U87 sounds so intimate and sonically perfect. Focused response, a vintaged, true analog "voice of god" in-your-face vocal output worthy of any film trailer.

akg has a more noticable high end boost than the more natural sounding u87

$$$ U87 silky, warm, pleasant and realistic, much cheaper P420 pleasent, silky, hyped high, could be convenient.

You can really hear the sibilance from the AKG. I own both these mics and the AKG is unusable on a lot of sources while the Neumann famously works on just about everything. Also, the Neumann takes EQ effortlessly while the AKG can be problematic. The voice in this video would sound great on just about ANY mic.

It is obvious I think which mic sounds best. The AKG Perception 420 however sounds better to me for spoken word applications than the Sennheiser MK4.
