Something about Chris' burst of ecstatic loathing on the line "They should invent something for guys with this kind of affliction, like a VR system where he can believe he's in a perpetual state OF GIVING YOU A TOUR OF HIS HOUSE!" really captures the revolutionary spirit of the show. Whatever lens you read RGU through, it's undeniably about someone realizing their whole life has revolved around the bullshit of a single pretentious creep; like literally their entire sense of self and perception of reality. Life is so much more than those men allow it to be, and they can only seem impressive when they succeed in making everything outside their orbit invisible. Seeing through the mysterious and charming prince, and realizing he has no loftier goals then watching you gawk at his cool house for eternity, is precisely what reveals the scope of the outside world to you; his smallness reveals the world's largeness by contrast. That's why the sheer belittlement in that line can be delivered with such resounding joy; when you put that pathetic guy in his place, the rest of the world comes rushing back into your sight.
This is such an amazing comment, I want to go show it to a million people to explain why I think this fucking dude in another story is a WUG, not a secret babygirl.
I'd tell you how many times I've rewatched this but I lost count. This has exponentially improved my daily life, thank you so much. Everyone should watch this work of art.
