@@hdhrhsk Well.. you suggest that there's no difference in two completely different (in build, design, materials) switches? There'll be some surprises in this hobby then! To me all of the V3 Pros are just louder than the previous versions. For many the original sound signature is still the but there is a louder clacky sound on top of it. I'm good with it, typing on some V3 Yellows in a Sugar65 right now but I have the Piano in my Neo65, Blacks in my Q1 Pro and Blues in my wife's CSTM80. To me Akko was killing it in 2023.
@thoccnology
@thoccnology 5 месяцев назад
You're absolutely right, all of them became the clackier and louder version of their OGs. But it's not neccessarily a bad thing, a lot of people prefer a clacky sound profile (I also have my clacky favorites ngl :)). I just can't get my head around why they stuck to the predecessors' naming, it could've been a nice, dedicated, new product line on its own. Also: I'm very tempted by the Neo65 (that, and the neo70 offer such yellow options that are not commonly available in other keebs) - are you satisfied with your neo65? Happy New Year! ^^
@MarbsMusic
@MarbsMusic 5 месяцев назад
@@thoccnology I love my Neo65, it's been my primary for the past 4 months or so. I got purple and put PBTfans Sabarushi on it and it's stunning. I do which it had a knob but I just remapped a couple of keys. Very impressed with the Neo/QK line Trying to decide right now if I want to get the QK65v2, QK75N or one of the new Neo70s or 80s. I too which I could get the old ones as well. I do love the new ones but I would definitely like some original Piano Pros for the Neo65. Like you I'm not sure why they couldn't make both. If you haven't tried the Epomaker Peace Lilly switches they are very similar to the original Piano Pro in sound and feel. I have those in my GMMK Pro and they are loud but very deep and thocky. As they are made by Akko I believe I have to wonder if they aren't off the old Piano Pro mold in some way. Happy New Year to you as well, looking forward to your continued content in 2024!
@thoccnology
@thoccnology 5 месяцев назад
@@MarbsMusic Same here, knobs are so essential for me too! The QK75N would be the best, but I really hope Neo will also announce a 75% (with knob) in the near future! Not long ago I heard that Akko changed manufacturers for their switches (now it's Outemu), so I think they went for Outemu's best molds, which happen to be completely different from the previous ones. :/ Sadly. Oh, I haven't heard of the Peace Lily before, I really like the colors and to see they offer it for a budget price. Next time I order from Epomkaer, I'll definitely drop them into the cart!

I would have to agree that yes they are a superior switch to the pros. Theyre usually a superior switch to more "premium" switches as well. I have the regular cream yellows in two of my builds, and in my daily driver. Ive tried to swap them out for oil kings, aquakings, nov creams, tropic waters, even some sp star variations..... and every single time and i mean EVERY SINGLE TIME im always like wow that was a waste of money and i always throw my cream yellows back into my board. In one sense i would get mad that i wasted my time money and effort trying a new switch, but in the other sense i am happy that i did because it really highlighted the superiority of the cream yellows and made me realize that they are MY switch from here on out. I love creamy clacks!

The mic is the same - also in the same position, so not the sound quality. :) They used different materials and switch design, hence the difference! It's been like that for months, I've been waiting and waiting and it's never in stock. Apparently they're discontinued. What a great switch, I don't know why they did that. It's okay, there are other alternatives, but I specifically wanted these for their price.

If you're aiming for a creamy, not loud keyboard, I'd go with the lubed Milky Yellows. Or just dropping the kinda-overpriced switches and go with the MZ Z1 switches, which are perfect replacements for the OG Cream Yellows.
