Nice thanks for sharing. I have an RS and am considering getting one. My reason is mostly for aesthetics and if it gives the sound a bit of a better growl, NICE!
Love an akra. It’s a shame they now have to weld the baffles in due to euro emissions rules. Nice to see akra have done the nice thing of tac welding screws rather than properly welding them in. It’s a bit like on their race systems they put a sticker saying not for road use rather than laser etching it in.
Yes to be honest I probably wouldn’t have brought the Euro 4 one I didn’t fancy drilling out the rivets the one I brought was for the earlier 1200 but fits just the same 😃
@@RedfordBaron you sure yours isn’t euro 4 compliant? Euro 4 came in around 2017. Akra never used to spot weld the baffle bolts before that was introduced. Be interesting to see what they have to do for euro 5
Have the same silencer, great vid but I have a question… I’ve got the bolts out but the db killers seem very well pressed into place and aren’t coming out at all. How did you get them loose?
@@RedfordBaron cheers for the reply. I have the screws out, that was pretty straight forward. I then managed to wiggle one baffle out but the other is stuck fast. Need some sort of puller with a slide hammer to jerk it loose I think. But thank you anyway for getting back to me
Are you happy it's given enough of an improvement in the sound - I'm seriously thinking of ordering one, but some UKGSER forum members have said they didn't notice much difference.
@@RedfordBaron I notices that this was the Euro 3 with the two link pipes. Is your bike a Euro 4 or Euro 5? I'm guessing the Euro 3 pipe is fine on either? Euro 3 pipe is 30% cheaper than a Euro 5, smaller, lighter and has removable baffles.
@@soda5730 I think the Euro 3 pipe has removable db killers thats the only difference not sure about Euro 5 the pipe sound better than standard thats for sure
