Its a great house and they are all worthy. Agree, Malt, was the most synthetic/Marine. Dark is the most addicting but performance is not great on skin or clothes. Haze and Smoke are good scents. Unique and great additions to the genre.

Oh I really hope Akro Malt is inspired by a nice Smoky, fresh sea salt and seaweed kind of Island of Islay malt whisky vibe, that would be my holy grail. Great review Sebastian as always.
I'm a total coffee-addict too so I just bought Awake and Smoke reminds me of Speakeasy by Frapin, which smells absolutely divine (rum, tonka beans, amber, leather, immortelle, musk, sweet orange). It is so intoxicating! I like to mix it with Tea for Two as they smell quite similar in a weird way.
Thanks for this review! I discovered this house quite recently and really liked their line, so decided to pick a favourite that I'd happily wear daily in wintertime. I chose between Dark and Awake, and Awake won hands down. Being a woman, SA really tried to sell me Dark, but it had slightly dirty cloying touch in the drydown and was also too sweet. Love love Awake, its a beautiful coffee, for imho better than either of Montales. Really love the cardamom in it and slightly sour coffee is quite authentic smelling. perfectly unisex and cosy. Coffee addicts dream indeed, and borderline gourmand on me.
I love when the full sample kit is talked about. Its fun to run a long with the video. Going to save this for when mine comes in! I'm most interested in smoke but I think Dark would be the safest for me... Pennsylvania
Coming coming to you from deep in the heart of Texas. Dark in awake probably sound the most interesting to me but the way you describe smoke really makes me wanna dive into it. And to me honestly, the best things about your reviews by the way you describe the fragrances. In-depth and picturesque almost as if I can smell it myself

Bought Smoke, Awake and Malt. Coffee inspired Awake is an absolute greatest coffee fragrance ever. At least it feels this way now. Smoke is equally great. Now slightly different story with Malt. All is good with it except seaweed notes. A bit too strong for me.

The one that interests me most is Awake, but they all sound engaging, even Malt. I like how Sebstian explained the fragrances, especially how Cresp created the quality of marijuana without actually using cannnabis. Super intrigued by these fragrances, love your description and honest! I think Malt sounds the most interesting as I’m a huge fan of Smokey whisky. Of course, I’d like to try them all via the sampler. I’m in TX.
I got a sample of one awhile back, but forgot to take notes. You honestly make awake sound the most intriguing. I don’t think I would like cumin in night, as I almost never like that scent and tends to dominate. Probably like how you feel about aquatic notes. California.
Ahhh! Great review! I discovered this brand at my local haute perfumerie store and was absolutely blown away! I only smelled Dark and Awake but both stuck to me and make me wanna try the whole line. To me Awake is my fav as it smells like these cookies we have here wich have like a coffee/mokka icing wich are absolutely scrumptious. Dark is super interesting but on my skin it kind of reminds me of like the Monkey exhibits at my local zoo? It's a very weird and nostalgic feeling but i don't know if i'd wear that one regularly. Super curious towards every other one of them besides night, i can't stand BO kinda scents.
I thought your favorite would have been Awake, but when I heard it was Smoke, I was like “OH WAIT of course it would be Smoke.” I love the pictures of the notes you added for each scent, it cuts into the video well. I loved your description of Smoke and Awake. I don’t own any frangrances with coffee notes, so would really like to try the discovery kits. It is interesting that Malt didn’t work well for you. Of course I end up watching these vids out of order. That said Night is my #1 favorite. Ink is rapidly becoming 1.5/2. Then Night and Dark. Dark reminds me faintly of POAL. Just briefly. Not as unctuous as POAL, just a brief reminder for some reason. Excellent review!

Akro Smoke is fabulous and I wear it all year long. Smells more like a campfire to me and not those disgusting cigarettes. I'm in Pennsylvania and I'd love a discovery kit.

Sebastian, noticing the sensitivity under your eyes. Is this cold weather related or reaction to something? Go to your local drugstore and buy the Cerave moisturizer. It will protect your skin barrier and begin locking in the moisture without irritating the area. Regarding the perfume, Smoke sounds amazing. Washington state.

Why would anyone make a smokey, leathery whiskey fragrance marine? That makes no sense. It sounds awesome but they had to ruin it with marine notes. I also hate aquatic/marine fragrances. Your number one is probably the one that has patchouli.
