Max: Roy would be amazing, Roy is just Capcom Terry. Capcom: No no we're bringing the real one. Matt: But we can't have 3 blonde punching men. Justin (and Capcom): Yes we can!
I feel like the Giant Attack stuff could be less about the character being popular, but moreso about boss characters. Akuma just happens to be popular but I feel the main reason why he got that event is due to his boss status. Imo other boss characters can get that and even have their own events: Urien: Second Impact Gill: Third Strike/Judgement Day M. Bison: Fatal Depth Seth: Tanden Storm G: Maximum President
I agree so much with Max's complains about the SF6 jukebox. No stage tracks are available, you can't assign songs to stages, no critical/last round versions. I also would love for the arranged versions of New Generations and 3rd Strike ost to be available, not to mention the 3rd Strike Online Edition songs. So yeah, the jukebox is nice, but it still has a long way to go until it's perfect. And i also agree with Lidia's face. She doesn't look bad, and while her T7 face was slightly rough cus of T7 graphics, i still think they should have tried to represent the "cuteness" or her T7 face instead of just going Nina 2.0, but it is what it is i guess. Great episode guys!
Sakura is the biggest character - she's winning the in game poll even last time I looked. That's the event character, even if it doesn't make a ton of sense plot wise.
Sakura is guaranteed will make a comeback. After her first appearance in Alpha 2, she never skipped a mainline SF, outside SF 3, because she has a big fanbase almost as big as Ryu, Ken, Chun Li, Akuma, and Juri fanbase. And she also made a cameo in Ryu artworks that we got from World Tour.
She'd be a good pick for a "giant attack" event tbh. They could over tune her with the Dark Sakura skin from MvC (with 1 or 2 Akuma moves like Shun Goku Satsu & maybe her SFEX moves like Nekketsu Hadoken & Genki Ichiban) TKO were thinking more along the lines of "event characters" (Legacy/Boss characters) like Bison and Sagat but I think they forgot about SF5's event boss which had the MvC "Shadow Lady" version of Chun Li. Personally I think that's where our minds should be looking, instead of a short event that is relegated to DLC, they could easily tune Ryu, Ken & Chun Li into the Evil Ryu, Violent Ken & Shadow Lady versions. And those ones are specifically references but, if they wanted, they could do a similar thing with any other current characters. Honestly with the event being so short right after the DLC, and theoretically only for specific DLC, seems like a waste of good idea, I'd rather have KOFXIV's method of Boss syndrome being permanent on the main menu at that point
Combo breaker was a blast my first big fgc event I ever went to. Got 129th in sf6 so I didn't to terrible either. Great experience I got to meet some of my fgc idols like iDom and smug. Definitely want to go to more evo might happen if I can swing it. To add y'all brought up Ramsey, that dude is cracked with gief the handful of times I've played him in ranked I've got cooked every time
I really enjoyed SF 6 big balance patch, Akuma, and Shin Akuma fight + gathering attack point to do hadouken against the giant Akuma which looks hilarious lol. I think i got all Drive Tickets around 6K-7K+ from the event that i used to unlock SF Alpha 2 & 2nd Impact ost and new challenger screen for Ed and Lily. I don't ask much for Season 2 but it would be cool if they add new story for World Tour, Arcade mode, and Falke.
@@lorenzosandoval7328 I'm sure you'll get Sakura, Cody, Rose, Vega, Urien, Bison, Sagat, Ibuki, Oro, Elena, C.Viper or whoever the top popular characters in Capcom survey. It's not like Capcom doesn't know those characters has big followers and guaranteed will print a lot of money for them. But Falke is one of my main in SF 5 and i would love to see her get a cool makeover like Dee Jay and Ed. Not to mention Neo Shadaloo arc is getting interesting with JP wants to captured Ed and Falke definitely not gonna let that happen.
@@thepuppetmaster9284 I want falke too but Ed was easily the worst selling of the first wave of dlc. Dudley is by far one of the most demanded characters now and it’s looking like he ain’t getting in with the absence of any sfiii fighters XD but I’m alright if they keep making new fighters instead (I’m no Sean fan but how tf was he not in by default)
@@lorenzosandoval7328 Ed the worst selling for _you_ . A lot of people including pro players actually like Ed and used him for ranked match or tourney. That's why Ed rank 4th for last month Characters Usage. And story wise, Ed makes a lot more sense than Dudley for 1st season DLC since Ed story has strong connection with JP.
I think about guest characters when I hear unexpected characters for Street Fighter 6. I would love to see a pack of 5 characters from like Tekken to cross over. I would be super happy for some Capcom, SNK, or Marvel characters too though. That would blow my mind!
To me the most unexpected character would be Remy. The characters I would love to have in Street Fighter 6 would be Makoto, Necro, and Dudley. And don't tell me we can't have two stretchy limb dudes when we already have four shotos in the game.
The SF6 Year 1 Pass is finally on sale everyone. It's basically $5 per character and you get 4200 Drive Tickets as well. I also noticed they discounted items in the shop too so it seems the strat now to save the most money is: - Buy Character Passes On discount - Never spend real money on music, colors or Outfit 2 - Only buy costumes with Fighter Coins (and only buy the costumes when discounted in game) I'm not going to play every DLC character but I HATE HATE HATE ghosted/greyed out options on character select screens. I wish more companies did what BlazBlue Central Fiction did and rearranged the character select screen based on who you bought.
On the KI segment Max mentioned that MS "passed on RE4". That actually isn't true. It was actually a fuck up on their part when one of their execs Kevin Baccus was in a meeting with Shinji Mikami: "The entire meeting was conducted in Japanese, and Bachus, who doesn't speak Japanese, got notes explaining what was being said. Mikami's body language and tone, however, showed that he wasn't exactly pleased by what he was hearing from the Xbox Japan staff. The meeting ended abruptly, Mikami bowed, and left."
GIVE ME DAN HIBIKI also, the jukebox in SF6 not having a "Randomize All" option was a major disappointment im not going to scroll through that massive list of music to periodically give characters 30 songs max, thats ridiculous Tekken having a "Shuffle All" button gives that game a massive edge music wise
Expecting more from Lidia Trailer besides a few new moves, transitions & Heat mode seems...unrealistic considering every other character from 7 generally got a similar ratio of stuff.
I'm surprised Ermac was skimmed over, to be honest. In my opinion, he's been the most fun dlc character with really awesome combos and feels like an MK9 character to me.
I wonder if that's what they are going to do with Heihachi use him like an event character to draw people back later. Maybe make a story beat with Reina?
For SF6 season 2 I would love to see Necro, Sakura, Akira(or any rival schools character) and Yang but if they could combine Yang and Yun into one character kinda like Zeku from SFV I think that could be really cool!
I'm fairly certain Anthony Starr didn't do the performance for Homelander in COD, they repurposed voice lines of his from the show. They didn't record anything new.
What Baberuthless is saying is right sadly, when multiverses took that break. They let people play the game offline local or training mode, with all the dlc available. Since the update the dlc available in offline and the ability to even play it has been ripped away. Apparently this is due to issues with unreal 5
I believe that season two will make it be violent Ken time, apparently Ryu got rid of Kage in sf5 and all the sf3 series was in between 5 and 6, after all the craziness happening with Ken is the best violent Ken time to shine
59:44 there is an offline mode! However, they took out the ability of playing with ALL of the characters offline, just the characters you have unlocked, ONLINE.
Arnold actually was busy doing Terminator Dark Fate which explains why he didn’t voice the Terminator in Mk11 But with Homelander, they couldn’t get Anthony Starr because A) WB didn’t paid the amount of money Anthony wanted and B) WB spent too much money towards Megan Fox. (Also, homelander’s voice is rough in the trailer I’ll admit but in the game he actually sounds nice)
Hell yeah the boys are back! I liked the last episode but it didn’t feel like a natural conversation and more like the guest presenting a slide show she made or something. 😅
Tbf i wanna know if max even tries out the dlc off camera. Because than its all on visuals, no hate or anything just what ive noticed and its perfectly fine. Especially for a family man
If we're talking unexpected characters, maybe they'll bring in 3rd strike characters, but the least talked about one. Expect Necro or someone like that. someone who isn't the most requested character. Which would be cool, honestly . don't get me wrong, still want Makoto, Dudley or Sean, but it'd be nice to see one of the least famous one as well.
Wish KI was on switch #killswitch Do you guys have any recommendations for a fighting game on switch that has a good tutorial mode? I think you guys mentioned how KI has a great one, one that even teaches players how to play fighting games in general. Is there a fighting game on the switch that does the same?
I wouldn't mind if they actually did this when they reveal more about Q and G. Like if neither of them is the boss, it would have to be X or Z, what other letter would be cool enough? 😆 Not sure they'll do it for Street Fighter 6,though.
43:50 I believe Anthony Starr went on Twitter or tik tok? Instagram, one of them and confirmed himself the reason why is because they wouldn't pay him enough, but COD did.
@@d3v1lsummoner In my defense I did see this explained after I posted my comment. I think I was just right on top of it before the explanation was pinned.
I love Arcsys fighting games, but my biggest gripe with DNF Duel stems from a quote regarding MVCI and how fighting game characters are just functions. While I like the character designs in DNF Duel & I like the gameplay (the one thing I want is air dashes), the characters feel so horrendously bland. There's no real personality to them. It's like if you took Baiken from Guilty Gear and named her "Samurai", or if May was called "Pirate", or if Potemkin was called "Grab Man". Unless you're a holy man who praises our lord and savior Jesus Christ, DNF Duel's characters aren't really characters at all, but act more like functions.
Primary concern for MVS is that, even if they fix the numerous issues people have raised with the new version, the monetization is probably going to be relatively untouched. The monetization in that game is *aggressive*. It’s grimy. It’s the same problem the beta had all over again, but now turned up to eleven. That game is not monetized in a way that feels focused on the long-term health of the game. It’s monetized like a fire sale. Everything in that game not nailed down has a price tag on it. You can buy extra lives in the single player rift mode for gods sake. You log in and the entire screen has all these tabs with exclamation points directing you to multiple different weekly or daily challenges and a stores with daily deals. It feels like all the bad habits of mobile games boiled down into a platform fighter. It’s abrasive and hurts a game that is already badly suffering from the feedback it’s getting regarding the missing features and gameplay changes from beta. It’s so over the top that it makes me concerned for the genre going more towards F2P games. I question how many franchises have the good will to survive off palatable monetization, or if many will succumb to this same crazy mobile game strategy.
I don't see them announcing it when SnK is still in the build up to CoTW and SF6 is only a year old. If there is one thing Capcom have learned (sadly a bit too well) is to not have their fighting games compete with each other.
All T8 trailers have been too focused on legacy players, not on atracting new players. That been said, Lidia breaks power crushes. With a flower. THAT is crazy. Eddie's green feet stuff can't even compare.
That was a bummer that street fighter 6 combo breaker tournament didnt have the real competition. It was a let down honestly, most of them were training for dreamhack. Also it seems like asian sf6 players stopped traveling because it's expensive.
Sad and frustrated knowing Multiverses has money first and players second all over it with 1.0 launch. It honestly feels they never did or were listening to the beta players. But it is what is and thankfully we have other games to play. Imagine spending hundreds if not thousands of dollars then the game gets shut down for a year, they exchange your currency for a useless currency. Only thing I can kinda understand is the slowed down pace but everything surrounding the base gameplay makes me wonder why they even had a beta. Scummy mobile monetization issues is way worse then the beta. Miss one day and you can't finish a 52+ level battlepass, multiple missions locked behind paid characters. Characters are double the price. Everything is scummy monetized. Of course they pulled an OW2 and totally removed the beta version can't revert back or reasonably play offline.
I hope they finish adding the rest of the classic SF2 characters in Street Fighter 6. You just cannot have them not be in SF6! Think there’s 6 missing still..
Nothing against the SF2 cast, and I wouldn't mind seeing Fei Long in there, but more SF2 rep is the thing the game need the least right now. The roster already have a majority of SF2 characters. Meanwhile, no no Final Fight characters, no SF 3, a single SF 4, no Alpha, no rival school...
Am i the only one that thinks having Homelander after we got Omni-mani is bit too unnecessary. I mean we already got that '''anti-super man'' character with Omni-Man, why not something different for example ''The Mask'' but from it's comic book part ''Leonidas'' from the 300 but i'm just throwing out ideas î'm trying to say is give me something completely different that will create a hype. In MKX when they revealed Predator it was such a hype moment then we got Alien. This is why i think this game's hype died down very quickly even with DLC characters. Too much focus on ''Super Heroes'' and they look like each other a lot ''Peace Keeper'' even though he is awesome it just a ''Robocop''' we played in MK1. We need way more interesting characters.
The point is that the theme *was* violent antihero/Supervilains. When they did Alien and Predators the theme was horror survival characters. Also Omni-man and Homelander are quite different beyond surface level "they're both evil Supermen" comparison. I personally don't find theses characters particularly hype since those aren't show I have watched (and it's been a long time since I've read invincible), but that's a personal preference issue Aside from that the decision make sense.
@@emperormegaman3856 I'm sure Omni-Man and Homelander waay more than "evil Superman" but this is not a story game. Characters should feel different than each other both gameplay and lookwise
@@resonmon Again, beyond being superhero they're not that smilar appearance wise either. Omni-man is a brawler (which fit the fact that he is a trained combatant), while Homelander seems to be a zoner who spam eye beam and unrefined punches (which fit the fact that in the source material he mainly rely on overwhelming strenght and eye-beam rather than any technique).
Can't say I agree with Matt dissing MKXs character designs; wonky animation sure, but MKX was the last game NRS actually put any effort into making their characters look fresh and cool. Since MK11 all they do is make them look like increasingly high-res versions of how they looked in the original game and it's so boring. Especially the ninja designs, so bland
@@buckx5 Puh-leeze. Don't play up the nerd cred argument, you probably haven't even read the books. Obviously they're not 100% the same character. That's not the claim. But if you wanna argue that the guy who is the most powerful superhero in the world, wears red and blue, flies, has super-strength and laser eyes and is also the main antagonist of the story somehow isn't a riff on evil Superman, then good luck with that.
We waited a year for this joke of a balance patch and Capcom still doesn't give a shit about actually balancing or making their game better. They just care about braindead overbearing system mechanics and homogenizing the whole cast. Still broken throw loops and easily fixable obvious horrific balance between characters. All these greedy bastards care about is overpriced exploitative microtransactions and soulless battle passes. These companies will always take the laziest cheapest route possible just to nickel and dime players whenever they can. Always doing the bare minimum when it comes to actually making their game better. I can see why this games player base is fallen off massively since launch and that will only will continue for years to come. Maybe all those people realized how stale, hollow, and homogenized the game truly is. Hurting these companies profits and making our voices heard is the only way these games will ever change for the better. Glad I never wasted my money on this game. It’s the same trash as most other modern FG on the market today and things are only going to get worse because these companies know they can keep exploiting their blind delusional fanboys more and more without any consequences. This new era of FG is an absolute joke. There is no true skill or nuance in these games anymore just appealing to super casuals and people who don't give a shit about FG's.
