There is some bad information in this video!! I am a Facilitator with Smart Recovery. 1st of all, we are volunteers!! So stating that we are paid to run meetings is NOT true!! The other thing that is incorrect is, that the handbooks are free. Not true!! They are $11.95 0n the website. I sell them at my meetings for $9.95, Facilitators get a $2.00/handbook discount which ,I, pass on to meeting attendees.
Thank you! I attended an online meeting yesterday, for the first time in my life. Was doubting if I needed it since I'm a great-grandfather of an alcoholic, but there's no active drinking in my family in the moment. But I read a brochure their website offers for the children of alcoholics, and I recognised myself there 😄 So I think I can attend both Al Anon and ACA. I liked the meeting. Felt a bit weird to be allowed to talk about my feelings without being judged, it's new 😌
