I have often found myself living near places of historical significance, and this is no exception. October 12 is Columbus Day, and it also marks the anniversary of the biggest event to ever happen in Bangor, Maine.
Sorry about the wind and traffic making noises. Such are the hazards of outdoor filming in a city.

That's definitely an interesting location to live so close to. I have to like the clever move by the gun shop owner.

+The Second Opinion Living in New England means living near historic locations. Yeah, that was quick thinking on the shop-owner's part. It also wasn't too bright of Brady to place the kind of order that only a murderous fiend would make.

With the new movie adaptation of Stephen King's It coming out in September, I started rereading the novel, specifically the section where a character describes the Bradley Gang shootout in fictional Derry, Maine. A few items were fictionalized but the inspiration seems to come directly from the Brady Gang in Bangor. Furthermore, there is a mural of the Brady or Bradley Gang shootout aftermath on an alley wall in the trailer. If you haven't read the novel, the differences between the two is that the bradley Gang placed a big order for ammunition and the store owner set up a time the next day at 2pm to pick it up. The owner only told customers and as word spread, when the gang returned, the entire town was armed and opened fire, killing all three members plus the two women they were with.

Thom Florio One of my favorite chapters. And one of the creepiest..."that clown didn't cast no shadow. No shadow at all."

+gordhanx You're welcome. I actually learned about this right before moving. I only had time to film on the street, though. Brady is buried somewhere in Bangor too, and for a long time, the grave was unmarked, which of course spawned many a ghost story.
