BRUH!! I just so happened to run across this song too tonight for the first time. I was drawn ALL THE WAY IN!! And I agree with ALL your critiques. Al Green's vocal skills were phenomenal!! He's always been my favorite.
At 50+ yrs old I've always known of Al Green as a kid especially his known hits but one day at Tower records, that's how far back I go,lol..over the speaker I heard a note..blown away!! I immediately bought several CDs for my "Walkman" again old as hell, that was over 25yrs ago and I've literally listened to an Al Green song everyday since!!! One of my favorites and if possible buy or find his "Live from Tokyo" cd.. Incredible!!

Hey man You are probably a fan of The Terrell Show on RU-vid, could you react to a song or two from the Makenzie Thomas episode? Or the whole thing(songs only) in a part 1 and 2? Her voice is blessed by the lord and sounds so good a cappella. Talk about control and transitions. I would love to watch you share the same joy I feel when I watch her sing.
It only gets better towards the end also. She sings Change Me by Tamela Mann and Alabaster Box which are so special. Such heartfelt and raw vocals with so much soul as well. Even if you don't react to it check it out for your own sake.
