At 60 years of age in 1946, Al Jolson was too old to play himself in The Jolson Story, so actor Larry Parks played the part, and Jolson provided the singing. But he wanted to be in the movie somehow. So the producer and director came up with a long distance shot where the real Al Jolson could sing and dance. So he sang this little 50 second version of 'Swanee'. "Swanee" is an American popular song written in 1919 by George Gershwin, with lyrics by Irving Caesar.
