@@Coincollector81 My brother got married and had kids at the age of 22 and by the time he was 29 he was notably going bald and gray. I never got married and have no kids. I'm less than a year younger than him and I still have all my hair and barely any gray at the age of 39. I remember my dad saying I'm lucky I got some good genes for longer lasting hair compared to him, his dad, and my brother, but I know the truth!😅
Yep agree..probably because when we 1st watched it we sat there thinking to ourselves...`can they really say that on tv`? and now we think..`Wish they still said that on TV`...and have an old fashioned good laugh...

It feels weird to say as a woman that I loved watching Married with Children as a kid. People say this is a misogynist show but I felt like it was a show that showed that even “losers” can be heroes. Always loved Al Bundy as a father because regardless of his crass jokes, he still cares for his family. Plus all the witty jokes makes the show funny. Even if they got rid of the live audience. I can see myself laughing anyway.
The main lesson of the show was that Al was largely responsible for his miserable life. That includes his attitude to women resulting in a disfunctional marriage. He treated women like a decoration and he ended up with an attractive woman that spends most of her time on a couch. He does not appreciate her for there is not much else about her other then her beauty. People just can't recognize the irony.
His character was a bit crass I thought, but at least back then you could say "man" or "woman" and everyone know what you meant. Some people nowadays can't even say what a woman is. Amazing.

I always say that such women hate men because someone hurt them badly in a previous relationship. I've seen it happen to some women and I was not surprised. Who would hate Ed O' Neil? The guy is such a humble class act in all his interviews.
Sometimes i would wake up around 5 am and this show would be on ABC before the six o'clock news. And if i was lucky, i got to see 2 episodes before catching the bus.

Best bar quotes was the time he took Bud for his birthday. 1) you can’t touch a thigh, but you can blacken an eye at the nudie bar! 2) You can’t touch a breast, but you can cave in a chest at the nudie bar! 3) where the beer gives you gas, but the Bundys KICK ASS, at the nudie bar!! One of my visits home, my stepfather asked me if I had seen the show, Married With Children. It was such joy to watching him laugh! I never seen him have such fun! I think he definitely could relate to Al! 🎉🎁👨👩👧👦💖👍😁

Sitting with my dad as a teenager watching Married with children every Thursday ( used to be Sunday ) while my mom was yelling at us including my dad’s friends to turn the tv down then my dad telling her shut up woman or I ll send you back to your parents house was so funny because it was often my dad who was kicked out.
Not true, early on in the show’s run there was a group trying to get the show cancelled because they objected to the material. Completely backfired on them and the show became mega popular from that.
Oh the days when this was prime time. Entertainment was all around much better back then. Movies, tv, sports. Even the advertising industry was alot better back then because they had to be creative. Now the advertising industry is just a creepy internet stalker.

Maybe Amanda and Ed had a feud, but they had chemistry. You can see in many scenes that Amanda is really struggling to not crack up at Ed, whether is something she says or an Al's insult.
I heard that Ed and Amanda at the time were very much like the real version of Al and Darcy so it was easier for them to play that role on screen. I could be wrong though.

I love all these late 80s early 90s TV shows. Life was very different back then, the humour also. They don't make TV shows like the used to. Seems to be very serious all the time nowadays.
Thats why i love Married with Children and it feels relevant now even thou its a show thats 22 yr old . No PC bullshit. If Al Bundy was on tv now they`d cancel him ..smh

These scenes wouldn't be allowed today, they would be called too masculine, bullying, sexist, demeaning, n of course specializing of women. We will never get these good shows again

This TV show. Ehheemm. Who am I kidding? This reality "TV sitcom" or reality in many ways because it aged like fine 🍷 wine... And it was way ahead of his time.
