Someone please explain why the UN, US, UK and others have spent billions on AMISOM/ATMIS for decades when they could have spent that money on training and equipping Somali National Army? Look at what the Somali army and locals have accomplished so far liberating whole regions from Al shabab. Seriously who came up with this plan to pay soldiers double/triple the amount they would make at home as if that would motivate them to defeat Al Shabab. Have they not heard of the phrase “don’t bite the hand that feeds you” which is why most of these soldiers don’t risk their lives and stay in their barracks prolonging Al Shababs control. Also who thought the smarts way to deal with Al Shabab was to get neighbouring countries that have their own interests in Somalia and even land/sea disputes with Somalia to solve this issue? Seriously what’s wrong with the people who run this world. It’s like they don’t even want Somalia to find peace. My Somali brothers and sisters wake up and unite no one can free our land’s except us.

There is nothing called Somali national Army. There is only clan militias in Somalia. They don't trust each other. No one is serious about building strong SNA. 5000 that were trained in Eritrea were sent home for that reason.

AU troops generally barricade themselves in fortress style military bases and never come out to fight Alshabaab in the bush or battlefield. It is left to the Somalia national army from Mogadishu to fight them in the country side

The Current failure ( president) made AL shabab even stronger and bolder. Since the beginning of this year 4 massive full scale attack was carried out by AL shabab, killing over 460 soldiers, both locals and Ugandan.

How can anyone fund a UN mission for 15 years. Billions have been spent and for what? When that money could have gone into developing a capable Somali Army. No one is joining the dots. The job of the peacekeepers is to keep the peace in the cities. They are not supposed to be at the front line. Their supposed to free up the army so it can send most of its capabilities at the front line

Who sponsors them? We Somalis says the 'international community': mainly the US, EU and UK. They use their proxies the UN, Kenya and Djibouti to arm and resupply the terrorists. There is videos of UN planes that supposedly drop food to rural communities but these drops are arm. The ugandans/amisom are they because each soldier is paid 1000 USD per month which for a ugandan or burundian is a dream salary. But they are useless they sleep and hide in camps whilst somalis in the army are the ones who are fighting day and night against these criminals.

Behind all these is the UN Support Office in Somalia (UNSOS) failure to deliver quality training to ATMIS and the SSF. As mentioned by commanders, there was failure in intelligence, which is among those trainings asked for by ATMIS prior to deployment of the troops. Planning any deployment relies on intelligence and this needs close coordination with all friendly forces in the area. UNSOS did not deliver the required training.
