A compilation of reports on the 1971 Indo-Pakistani War and the parallel Bangladesh War of Independence (also known as the Bangladesh Liberation War), beginning in November 1971, two weeks before the start of hostilities between India and Pakistan, and ending in January 1972, six weeks after Pakistani capitulation marked the end of East Pakistan and the beginning of Bangladesh. The reports capture a number of key turning points in the conflict, including the dramatic fall of Dhaka (Dacca) on 16 December 1971, the ceremony of Pakistani surrender on 19 December 1971, and the release of Bangladesh's first Prime Minister, Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, from Pakistani captivity in January 1972. As well as featuring footage of frontline fighting, the reports include interviews with several historic personalities including Bangladeshi Prime Minister Sheikh Mujibur Rahman; John Kelly, representative of the United Nations High Commission on Refugees (UNHCR); India's Envoy to Bangladesh, Durgha Prasad Dhar; and a number of Indian and Pakistani military officers.

What India did was to affect Pakistan on a military level, west Pakistan civilian weren't a part of this play, unlike the terrorist attacks done by Pakistan proxies. Pakistan was too powerful for whatever it is you are imagining or trying to indicate in your comment, instead would be bogged down in a mutual guerilla war, extending enough for weather conditions to force Indians to halt and take a break. General Niazi gave an order to fight and die prior to his superiors forcing him to change the order to Surrender.

When General Jacob flew in a helicopter into Dacca and presented General niazi for surrender, Gen niazi said " I thought you came to negotiate", Gen J gave him surremder terms and told him he needed to make a decision in 10 min or he would leave. Coward, incompetent, clueless General Niazi consulted his officers and came back and signed, thst is why Gen J was shocked because he later said, he was expecting defiance and push back but surrender was accepted and so quick. All the General staff were coward louts who had no faith and therefore no spine. The advice from anothet coward drunk Gen yahya to Niazi was " Do what ever you think is right", no instruction to fight, he was lost in the realm of political arena just like situation today in pakistan.

@@Sando-q3b General Niazi wrote a letter to President of Pakistan Farooq Leghari in the 90s for reinstating his stripped away military pension where he mentions the Eastern Command obeyed the intial command of Niazi to die with no hesitation, only when his superiors Yahya Khan persuaded by Air Marshal Abdul Rahim and Son of Burmese Domestic servant General Hamid Khan to change the orders to Surrender. It was however argued against him that for the greater good of Pakistan he may not follow orders. Conclusion: The Niazi was too high in command and was better a battlefield martyr than a pivotal figure in world history.

Indian Government should capture the Bangladeshi land and merged it with West Bengal, And named the state only "Bengal". During Indra Gandhi's time they directly attacked us but during Modi's they used militants to do guerrilla war.
