I think UAPB took it. They had more energy and better song selections. AAMU was mostly clean but kind of boring. UAPB what a surprise!!! There are some things that need work, but a solid performance from both bands given such short notice.
Both bands sound great UAPB trumpets I’m proud of y’all lol. Good arrangements. Mr graham sometimes make me mad with song selection but great way to represent quality music from HBCUs
A&M “The Scott’s” sound like The Smiths. I’m sure they will be better in the fall but this wasn’t very good. UAPB was impressive for such a small band.
Damn Aamu's Trumpets kinda let me down man, they one of my fav trumpet sections. No Cap, Uapb was giving it to them. Uapb walked away with this dub. They seemed more prepared for this battle and they hopped up big time in my band rankings.
Was it UAPB moving up or AAMU moving down? And what criteria are you using? I think this came down to song selection and energy. Musically I can hear a clear difference but it's always interesting to hear people's process behind their thoughts
@@Kendle352 Aamu is one of my favorite underdog bands, I'm sure they will handle business in the fall but UAPB had some smoke and they trumpets came all the way up. They had a good song selection and they executed better
@@Kendle352 in my opinion A&M just got outclassed..UAPB is one of the only bands that hasn't really changed their style of playing, been doing the same thing for years, where as A&M has definitely made some changes they used to be a very clean band but idk, I guess pb had em a lil spooked now they kinda sound like AaBoom Or SU&M idk just didn't hit for me this year.
M4 and MMW! Hoping for a true representation in the fall with both full bands. This was an exhibition in my Mind. M4’s trumpets doing it! LOL ! MMW’s bass horns are dope too.
Aa&m sounded great but song selection just sounds redundant like what every other band would play. UAPB'S song selection and that return fire of the same 2nd song with better arrangement from my opinion make me give them the W by a narrow margin. Reason being is the last song kinda had me iffy about it but sounded good thanks in part to the mello's technical part well executed in the song. Advantage UAPB
Golden Lions definitely sounded better! Still got love for the Bulldogs... Mr. Wesley's Bulldogs would have crushed, but that was back in the day🤷🏿 Golden Lions for the Dub this go around...
A&M tubas standing from the bottom to the top, and PB in the back behind the band and they still sound way cleaner than A&M 💀😭 Then on top of that they are double the size😭
Uapb came out swinging. They both had good power throughout. I enjoyed uapb's song selection better but I thought aamu had a fuller sound. It was close for me but just because I enjoyed uapb songs more I give them the edge. However do not sleep on aamu they can bring it when they want to.
UAPB sounded the best of the two, but I can't ignore the potential in both ensembles. What would fix PB would fix some issue with A&M, and what would fix issues with A&M with fix issues with PB. I wasn't there, but this is just from what I could here and see
@@Kendle352 the same thing that makes people like Coke over Pepsi or vice versa. You say simple. Others say ornamentated. Good job both bands. Come on M4!
@@Kendle352 it wouldn’t be good for every band to sound the same on it anyways. Everybody trying to play the exact song instead of adding their own to the arrangement
Uapb was the crisper and better prepared band but aamu last song was definitely a hit tho. Both had pretty good power and if these are half of there bands respectively some damage will be done in the fall. I go hard for aamu but I’ll give a slight W to UAPB; based on uapb sound was more consistent and they were more aggressive through da whole game; however I know aamu will take care of business in Fall when they are fully loaded🔥
Ms Rosalyn, unfortunately in the band world, the 5th Quarter is only determined by the musicians. Yes, AAMU has excellent color guard and dancers, but 95% of band heads are only judging band only.
UAPB needs to work on making Leave the door open sound more lyrical and add phrasing to make it sound less edgy. AAMU did good on the song after that. That was one of my favorite songs of theirs. UAPB definitely had the better sound for over half of the video in my opinion.
First time hearing these two play the scotts. Imo Nobody's version of the scotts had executed or arranged better than jacksons I'm sorry. Every arrangement I listened to cheated on those runs at the end, including miles
Uapb had 14 more people than aamu and most where percussion. In numbers y’all high brass matched out low brass. Our high brass matched y’all low brass . It’s lot a big difference in horns so save that sorry ass excuse. If it was UAPB y’all would be all over em 🤷🏾♂️
Both seemed to be called on from straight outta high school 😂😂😂.Su simpliest arrangements are more complex and cleaner .must work on putting more effort into there arrangements.both overall good job freshman band .I expect to see progress from both programs in the falls.no disrespect just know both programs will be better
